Vacation Rental Description
The Apartment is set in a XVII century beautiful canal house located in the heart of the historical city center of Amsterdam.
Split in two floors, it offers high standard features, a lot of comfort with two double bedrooms, large living room, dining with open kitchen and amazing views from both sides of the building: famous canals, with their boats and bridges on the front and the typical Dutch roofs on the rear.
Located in The Jordaan area, you will be close to the most well-known hotspots, like Anne Frank House, Dam Square, Museums and many more. You will not need public transport to enjoy the old city center, but if you need to go further, access to trams and trains is also very easy.
Up to 5 people! TV/DVD/CD/wireless ADSL.
As in typical canal houses from the XVII century that are still alive in Amsterdam, the Dutch architecture is predominant, which you can observe not only from outside but also in the interior space, the ceilings and the wooden structure of the roof.
The apartment has windows to both sides of the building, front and rear, in both floors, guaranteeing thus plenty of natural light and great views. The white of the ceilings and walls enhances, consequently, the colors chosen for the furniture and fine art work. Simply beautiful…
The location is not only central and convenient, but beautiful: close the world famous Jordaan area of Old Amsterdam, where the Herengracht and Leliegracht canals meet (the first picture you see here below is taken from the front window).
You will be walking distance to the most well-known hotspots, like the Noorder Markt, Anne Frank House, the Western Church, Dam Square, Museums and many more.
The Jordaan was once a very poor area of Amsterdam, taken by the hippies on the 60's, and now has become a truly exciting and diverse area to explore. Its cafés, restaurants, markets and the Dutch people hanging around have a different character, comparing with other areas of the city. There are hundreds of small shops, funny Amsterdam houses, churches and museums, all within a short walk distance. There is also the convenience of having a tram within only a 100 meters from the apartment too, that will take you in 10 minutes to Central Station, Leidse Square, the Flower Markt or the Museum Square
The apartment has two levels, First floor:
The living room, in front of the building offers a large sofa, lounge chairs, media equipment, shag pile rug and many modern paintings. In case of five guests, here you will find an extra large self inflate air bed (more comfortable and bigger than a normal blow-up bed).
On the back of the house, with views to the Amsterdam's roofs, there is an open kitchen and the dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped as many other modern houses, including refrigerator, freezer, ceramic plate cooker and oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, etc. On this floor you will also find the bathroom, with a bath tub classically decorated, shower, basin (sink, in American English) and toilet. Each sleeping room on the second floor has its own wash basin too!
Second floor:
The sleeping area offers two bedrooms (for 4 people), each beautifully furnished with one double bed, side tables, lamps, storage and wash basin. If you are in a group of 5, there is one extra comfortable air bed available in the living room on the first floor. From here you have also views to both sides of the building, the front and the rear
