Casa Fortebracci is a beautiful old farmhouse that has been transformed into a beautiful home by the family that owns it. Their exquisite taste has fused stylish and contemporary interior design with original features and home comforts that will appeal to those discerning guests who want a more luxurious ambience. Set on a hill terrace by the historic fortified village of Montone, and with commanding views of the Tiber valley, Casa Fortebracci is a newly-restored farmhouse ideal for family use. Umbria, the 'green heart' of Italy, has plentiful mountains, valleys, art and history to explore and also enjoy the best of Italian gastronomic delights in the many excellent local restaurants. Casa Fortebracci has been transformed by local craftsmen into a spacious home, beautifully furnished to suit the position and climate, and perfect for all those who want to enjoy Italy.
Thick stone walls, terracotta floors, beamed high ceilings and louvred shutters make for a calm and cool interior. The spacious bedrooms, all with en suite shower and/or bathrooms, have remote-controlled ceiling fans and, if the weather turns colder, underfloor heating and the open fireplaces keep the whole house warm. The décor is very stylish, with clean modern lines. Large sofas and armchairs in both drawing-rooms ensure your comfort whether reading, enjoying music or watching television.
The living areas open out on to a shaded loggia for dining al fresco, and then onto pool terraces with panoramic views of woods, fields and the valley beyond. If you love cooking, the well-equipped kitchen will delight, with its spacious work surfaces and large range oven.
There is a double bedroom on the ground floor, with a standard sized double bed.
On the first floor are the Master bedroom and three double bedrooms. All these rooms have been designed to provide both privacy and corner views from each room. The Master bedroom also has a separate dressing room and its own private entrance stairway and balcony on which to enjoy the morning sun or shade in the afternoon. Another of the bedrooms is equipped with two extra stowaway beds for children or extra guests.
The pool is 15m x 5m with a stepped entrance into the shallow end, surrounded by a tiled terrace and shower area and furnished with parasols and sun loungers. The pool is not fenced, but is close to the house and in full view of it.
The newly landscaped gardens contain oak, olive and walnut trees and are bounded on three sides by wooded slopes down to the valleys. A gated drive leads to the front of the house, where there is plenty of parking.

Activities
In this beautiful undiscovered area of Umbria, Casa Fortebracci is only 2.3kms from the historical fortified town of Montone, with good restaurants and basic shopping facilities. Umbertide, with more dining options, an excellent market and good shops and supermarkets is just 10 minutes away. Well placed for exploring Umbria and Tuscany - Perugia (45km), Assisi (56km), Gubbio (40km), Cortona (47km), Citta di Castello (20km), Anghiari and Sansepolcro (38km), Siena (97km) and Lago Trasimeno (42km).
