The surroundings
The landscape round Podere il Melograno is quite varied and enjoyable. You can be delighted with the green predominating in Florence area, the yellow in Siena area, the brown towards Monte Amiata.
You can see hills grown up with grapevine, olive trees, sunflowers, wheat and maize; thereby roads seem planned by a painter.
The countryside all around the estate gives a wealthy peaceful feeling we can’t even dream in our daily town life.
Suggestive walks let us discover the characteristic places of this charming ancient land.
Torrita di Siena is one of the rare resorts where the ancient breed of white cows called chianina is bred. These white cows come from the Etruscans and their meat is used to cook the famous delicious “Fiorentina”.
Just like in a dream, you will enjoy mountain, sea, lake, all together... and who wants to take a leap into the past can visit Val d’Orcia by the small steam train or the ancient diesel rail-car.

If you prefer something more peaceful and fitted to the landscape, go to Bagno Vignoni: there is a hot spring water used in the Middle Ages to mill corn all the year long because there was no drought as in the rivers.
Chianti is one of the most famous wine in the world. On Montepulciano hills, which are only 8 kilometres far from Torrita, the Nobile of Montepulciano is yielded and in Montalcino the well known Brunello is!
