Vacation Rental Description
Casale Refoli is an ancient Tuscan farmhouse detectable in the maps (dated 1824) of the "Catasto Leopoldino" with the name of "Podere Cetinaglia" (name very common in Tuscany from which the current location). Inhabited until time is not too far away from families of peasants of the "Val d'Elsa", which provided their livelihood by farming and breeding of animals.Casale Refoli is located near by the village of Casole d'Elsa in the province of Siena. Casole d'Elsa, of ancient Etruscan origin, is an important historical center of Val d'Elsa. Subject of contention between Florence and Volterra, the village of Casole d'Elsa owes its imposing walls of the Siena domain.
Today, Casole d'Elsa is a town awarded the "Bandiera Arancione ", the mark of quality tourism environment that the Italian Touring Club attaches to the interior location for the development of quality tourism.
Only recently the property of Casale Refoli has been completely restored maintaining unchanged the shape, volume and part of the original (see photo of ruins Cetinaglia in our web site http://www.casalerefoli.it/gb/gb.htm) and transformed into a cozy and comfortable house divided in 5 apartments. From 2007 began to offer hospitality and welcome to lovers of Tuscany, his campaign and its art treasures.
In a very quiet, the property of 15,000 m2 is located on a hill surrounded mostly by fields of wheat. Accessed by a unpaved road of 2.5 km, not suitable for low or sports car.
DISTANCES: 4 km Casole d'Elsa (food shops), 10 km Colle Val d'Elsa (all kinds of shops), 23 km San Gimignano, 37 km Siena, 55 km Florence, km 24 Volterra, km 87 Follonica (coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea).
The interiors of Casale Refoli are comfortably equipped and well-finished. The floors are in "COTTO" made by hand, ceilings in the traditional beams of oak, crafted wooden kitchens with marble shelves with all the furnishings. The hand-made mattresses are very comfortable (double cm 200x170 and single cm 200x100).
Bedroom wardrobes are old and restored by skilled craftsmen, some dining tables are valuable and recently restored. Each apartment has an exclusive external paved in "cotto" and furniture for outdoor dining. Heating on consuption. The pool, with a modern management control of the water, measure 16 mt x 6,2 and is reserved solely for Casale Refoli guests. Open from from May 15 to September 30. Private parking with night lighting.
Facilities
Casale Refoli proposes its visitors a special catering service. All our apartments have fully equipped kitchen, but sometimes it's nice to find dinner ready to be enjoyed in your own dining room. Our chef is from Casole d'Elsa and she's professional and experienced to prepare traditional dishes of local and regional Tuscan menu (previously agreed) that I will personally deliver to you at the time stipulated. Casale Refoli presents 4 different areas of the menu, but with the same characteristics of authenticity and origin of products. For example, bread and cake are made in house, the home-made pasta or semolina wheat "semola di grano duro", meats and cheeses locally produced, white and red meat from local farms. Game (wild boar or deer) from our reserves. Extra virgin olive oil. Homemade cakes. A cuisine hard to find in a restaurant.
Activities
About 30 minutes by car from the Casale Refoli there is the Equestrian Club that offers, with multilingual instructors, courses of riding at all levels, from the first experience of preparing to mount racing, equestrian trails up to.
For the youngest pony courses are the best opportunity to combine the sport fun in a healthy environment where you can socialize, learn, grow.
For fans of cycling Tuscany offers endless road passing by and through the most beautiful and important and off-road routes easy or challenging. Final mandatory cleaning: 60 EUR. _ Heating upon consumption: Euro 4.00 m3 (only in the cold season or exceptional period of cold). _ Minimum Deposit: EURO 150.00 Booking Deposit "Caparra Confirmatoria". If, before payment of the balance of the lease (30 days before the holiday), the customer decides to cancel the reservation: 1) CASALE REFOLI will not return the deposit "caparra confirmatoria" of 100 EUR. 2) Customer can use the deposit for any other reservation (bookings calendar permitting).
