La Marinella - VELLANO (PESCIA)
A chance to experience life in a small medieval Tuscan village with incredibly beautiful views over the valley towards Lucca and Pisa. The village of Vellano is 500 metres high and basks in sunshine all day - pure air and cool evenings. After a day of hectic sightseeing it is a joy to return to the calm atmosphere of this small village.
La Marinella is a spacious apartment in an old villa just recently renovated. The whole property is south facing and nestles in an olive grove on the edge of the village with stunning views in all directions .
The apartment has two large bedroom (one matrimonial and one with 2 single beds),a well equipped kitchen with dining table (for 4), fridge,small electric oven, gas, iron.) sittingrm, large bathroom with shower and two separate toilets.
It has it’s own private entrance and terrace area for dining out and use of the garden.Barbecue and use of washing machine.
Private parking is available up to the house.
Vellano has one restaurant,a bakery/grocers with fresh bread weekdays ,a pizzeria,and post office plus local social club 'il circolo' where there are dances during the summer, months - all just 3 mins on foot from the house.
The nearest town is Pescia (famous for its flowers) just 15 mins away where there is a railway station for Florence/Lucca,Pisa. Hospital, banks, supermarkets, local markets.
There are open air concerts in the summer at Lucca, the Blues Festival in Pistoia in July and the Puccini Opera at Torre del Lago.
Local amenities- seaside 1 hr away, 18 hole golf course at Montecatini Spa town, tennis, several swimming pools (15 mins away) pony trekking, mountain walks all the historic villas and gardens of Lucca (40 mins away) plus of course Florence, Pisa, Cinque Terre and Siena.
Nearest airports are Pisa and Florence (both an hour away).
Train station at Pescia for Lucca / Florence / Pisa.
