Casa Colomba is the perfect romantic bolthole situated close to Pisa in the historical centre of Vicopisano, often referred to as one of Tuscany’s most beautiful villages and best kept secrets with its clusters of terracotta rooftops, cobbled pathways, medieval towers and village square. This charming medieval tower house apartment offers its guest’s boutique style with Tuscan charm and Character; the apartment recently and lovingly restored by its current owners retains original features such as exposed stone walls, terracotta floors, a 12th century tower room and a charming Loggia. The apartment is spread out on one floor.
LIVING AREA
Enter through the front door into a large airy loft style living area with beamed ceilings and an exposed stone feature wall which forms part of an 12th century tower. The room is stylishly decorated with a mix of traditional and modern pieces, and has a comfortable sofa bed which sleeps 2. There are occasional tables and a writing desk with stationery. The main window looks out onto a small courtyard, terracotta rooftops and the surrounding hills.
BATH ROOM
The bathroom is situated off the living room and also retains character beamed ceilings. The shower, WC, bidet and basin are contemporary in design with a mix of ceramic, glass and chrome fittings. Towels changed every 3 days on request
BEDROOM
The romantic bedroom is housed in the 12th century tower. The queen sized cast Iron bed is a period feature typical of the Tuscan region and is dressed with crisp white bed linen and sumptuous pillows and cushions. An antique wrought iron chandelier hangs from the high beamed ceilings.
KITCHEN/DINING AREA
The stone built kitchen unit is very typical of Tuscan design and is fitted with modern appliances. At one end of the Kitchen there is an original stone structure, quite possibly used for for displaying treasured objects from times gone by. The furnishings are typically Tuscan simple and rustic in design. The kitchen is fully equipped for those wishing to cook at home.
LOGGIA
A loggia is typical of Italian architecture and can be defined as a covered Gallery, Portico or in the case of Casa Colomba an internal room with a large open recess so residents can escape from the heat of the day, enjoy the cooling breeze of the evening and admire the views over the surrounding countryside and hilltop white chapel. The chapel reputedly holds a holy relic (A splinter of the wood from the crucifix on which Jesus was crucified) which was brought from the Holy Land during one of the Holy Crusades. The loggia is the perfect place to relax and is furnished with day beds & floor cushions

The nearest beach on the Tyrrhenian Coast can be reached in just under a 30 minute drive here we can arrange a day for you at a lovely beach club with sun loungers, umbrellas, bar and restaurant.
Going north of Pisa you can get to the vibrant coastal towns of Viareggio, Torre di lago and Forte dei Marmi all of which can be reached in under an hours drive. Various beach clubs run wind and kite surf schools and centres.
The nearest golf course is just under a 30 minute drive away close to the sea on the Tyrrhenian coast. This course is renowned for being one of the oldest and most stunning golf clubs in Tuscany and has been voted as one of the best 9 hole courses in Italy by ‘Golf digest’.
