Vacation Rental Description
In an ancient village high above the Taverone valley, we have a collection of four newly converted houses set on a hillside with stupendous views, especially from the pool area. In the heart of the village, which boasts a bar, shop and excellent restaurant - all within 3 minutes' walk. No cars pass the houses,only the cows! LA TAVERNA Sleeps2+1
La Taverna is a very special small property. Completely made of stone it seems as though it is carved out of the rock. The kitchen area in the main room has an ancient marble sink, though modern plumbing!
Set into a corner of the stone wall in the bedroom is a luxurious spa bath. There is also a bathroom with a spacious shower.
The living room opens onto a walled courtyard, while the bedroom has its own private garden. A few steps away is the large pool with wonderful views over the hills. It is set in a friendly village with a shop, bar and restaurant only a couple of minutes walk away.
I CANCELLI Sleeps 2, 4, 6+
Also enjoying the beautiful swimming pool, I Cancelli, a spacious family house, looks towards the pool at the rear and over the hills and village from its large private terrace. You can sit out quietly on this extensive private terrace or in the beautiful shady courtyard at the front. To the rear, there is a large (10mx5m) pool shared with the other houses.
After entering through the stone-flagged courtyard with its ancient pizza oven, the cosy downstairs sitting room with open fireplace leads through to two bedrooms and a bathroom with shower.
Upstairs, from the stylish living room, french windows lead out onto the large terrace with its gazebo - perfect for al fresco dining.. The main bedroom has an en suite luxury bathroom area in gorgeous blue tiles with a corner spa bath from which you gaze out across the valley. There are dramatic soaring beamed ceilings with stone walls throughout the upstairs.
It has the enviable position of being on a south facing hillside in a small farming community with a restaurant a few minutes walk away. A lovely family house but also suitable for just 2 persons using the upper floor only.
LA CASETTA Sleeps2+2
La Casetta is the perfect little stone-built Tuscan cottage that everyone dreams of. Whilst in the same group as the others, it is completely detached, making it is a perfect hideaway with all modern conveniences. Upstairs there is a spacious bedroom and beautiful shower bathroom. Downstairs is a modern kitchen and a living room with the original stone walls.
There are spectacular views from all the rooms and the portico-covered terrace. At the end of the small garden there are steps down to the large pool.
LA VISTA Sleeps 4-8+
La Vista is another of the collection of four newly converted houses set on a hillside with stupendous views. It is a converted cottage with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. From the living room and kitchen you step straight out onto the panoramic terrace, from which you can gaze across to the beautiful pool to the hills beyond.
These houses are situated the 'forgotten' part of Tuscany known as Lunigiana. North of Pisa, it is a beautiful hilly area between the mountains and the sea. Wonderful walking country. Excellent inexpensive restaurants.
1 hour from airport (Pisa or Genoa). 40 minutes from sea. 1 hour to Lucca or Pisa. 2 hours to Florence - train available.
Facilities
The bar in the village, run by Silvia, also has a restaurant above. It is open everyday except Wednesday. It is best to book at weekends. In fact, it is always worth letting Silvia know in the morning if you are intending to go there for lunch or dinner. You can also buy a few basic supplies at the bar, and bread can be ordered from the local bakery. It is delivered to the bar around 9:00 am. Down the hill in Crespiano is Galletti's - a bar, restaurant and shop. As at nearly all the restaurants in Lunigiana, there is no printed menu. They have a few freshly cooked dishes to choose from and ii is always very economical and excellent quality. The wine is plentiful and cheap.

You can be in the ski resorts in 50 minutes. In summer the mountains can be appreciated for the lakes and the cool air.
And down on the coast,just 40 minutes away, is Lerici, a small fishing port with a beach and numerous quai-side restaurants. You can catch the boat to the Cinque Terre - 5 cliffside villages hanging over the sea. Or drive up to Portofino to admire the yachts in the harbour.
Lucca and Pisa are only an hour away, and Florence is 2 hours. Parma is just over an hour.
You can catch a train from Aulla - quicker than driving and costing less, after petrol, tolls and parking.

Bookings days and periods are flexible. Any day to any day. 3 day minimum. Low season 1 Oct - 30 April Mid season 1 May - 30 Jun, 1 Sept - 30 Sept High season 1 July - 31 Aug 50% deposit payable on booking. Balance due 70 days before departure. Payment by credit card, debit card, bank transfer or cheque. By arrangement, payment may be may in euros at an agreed rate. In the event of cancellation by the client the following charges shall apply which will be payable by the client depending on the date upon which the cancellation is properly notified in writing: Up to 70 days prior to the departure specified in the confirmation invoice the amount of the deposit. Between 69 and 30 days prior to such departure date a charge of 70% of the full price. Less than 29 days before such departure date, 100% of the full price.
