Vacation Rental Description
Villa Maura has only been opened in July 2008 and has modern forniture. The villa has a direct access to the beautiful swimming pool, with a shallow end perfect for the children, that is situated in our own characteristic olive grove. Leading from the living room is a patio with barbeque, furnished with a table and chairs to enable you to dine al fresco. The bright kitchen has 2 windows. The open space on the ground floor is a dining and living room. An Italian marble stair takes you upstairs, where there are: one double plus one and one twin/triple bedroom. Total of 3 bathrooms (with shower or bathtub). Laundry room. This is why the villa is ideal for families, with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay. Villa Maura is situated in a peaceful and panoramic location, immersed in the green hills of the Parco delle Cerbaie and in the Padule di Fucecchio (unique area where even storks come to nest). It is located in the heart of Tuscany, with the art cities of Pisa, Lucca, Florence within very easy reach and many lesser know treasures still to be explored nearby.

There is a nice bar / restaurant / pizzeria (also to go) you can walk to.
In Fucecchio there are typical restaurants, pizzerie, wineries, characteristic shops, shopping centres, sports grounds (tennis, golf, horse-back riding facilities).
We prefer to send driving directions depending on the origin of our guests. We are very close to either an exit Firenze Mare A11 to the motorway Firenze-Pisa-Livorno. The airports of Pisa Galileo Galilei (Ryanair) and Florence Peretola are easily reached within an hour.
Ryanair in Pisa flies low cost from/to: Birmingham, Leeds, Bournemouth, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow Prestwick, Liverpool, London Stansted and Dublin.
Facilities
The striking characteristic of Villa Maura is the fantastic views you can enjoy from every window. You sit at the dinig table and you feel like you are outside (thanks to the large door window). You can laze on sun loungers by the pool (you have 2 sun loungers, a table and a sunshade there). You can relax in the garden sipping an aperitivo while the tomato sauce boils in the kitchen, then have a nice dinner with a steak cooked in your own BBQ as you watch the sunset. Internet on demand, charges are applicable. Pool is open according to season (Usually 1st of May-30th September).
Activities
We are in a very quiet countryside, very easy to reach (no white roads) but not in the middle of nowhere. In less than 1 hour you can reach almost every tourist destination in Tuscany like Pisa, Collodi (Pinocchio's birthplace), Pistoia, Florence, Vinci, Lucca, Montecatini Terme, San Miniato, Certaldo, San Gimignano and, why not, the seaside of Versilia. Both the motorway exit of Alopascio and the one of the Superstrada Firenze-Pisa-Livorno are quite close.
At walking distance there is a nice bar/restaurant/pizzeria (also to go), at 3 kms there is a grocery shop open until 12PM, while in Fucecchio (5kms) there all the shops you might need, there is also a brand new PRADA outlet shop.
We will make sure you have all the infomation about what is going on around you. Leaflets and city maps (and advice) will be given at your arrival. Tiziana or Walter will welcome you to give you the keys and are always on hand to give local information.

On the penultimate weekend of May the town of Fucecchio hosts the traditional horse race Palio delle Contrade. The Palio delle Contrade is an important kermesse, a sort of commemoration of the Contesa which took place in Fucecchio around 1200. The last Palio performed on June 14th 1863: in that moment, the Giostra was buried, until today, when the twelve contrade give life to this old challenge. It is a day that passionates of traditional festival should not miss: an historical parade takes place in the morning, while the horse race is held in the afternoon, at Buca del Palio. Travel Options

- Travel Info: Villa Maura is ideally localted. It is in a peaceful and relaxing setting, while still it is very easy to reach it and to visit the masterpieces Tuscany is famous in the world for. Just between Florence and Pisa airport, it is also close to the motorway exit of Altopascio of the A11 and not far from the Superstrada Firenze - Pisa - Livorno. Please note that full payment will be required for any bookings made within 2 months of the start of the rental date. Breakages deposit of 300.00 euro cash required on arrival. Sorry, pets are not allowed. No smoking inside the house. Smoking inside the apartment will result in immediate termination of occupancy and forfeiture of all payments. We can accept bank transfer payments in Euros only. Payments accepted also through credit card (plus 3% credit card charge). The client is recommended to arrange comprehensive travel insurance (including cancellation cover), baggage, personal belongings and public liability etc., as these things are not covered by the owners insurance. Long weekends rate available (except July and August), please enquire.

Un bon acceuil Du calme avec un excellent point de vue. Une situation géographique intéressante pour faire des visites. Très bien pour des vacances en famille mais un peu loin pour des sorties nocturnes

Villa Maura est une maison très calme , spacieuse et confortable, beaucoup d'espace pour les enfants, la piscine est très agréable, vue très agréable sur la campagne toscane. Très bien située pour les nombreux sites touristiques de la Toscane.
