Vacation Rental Description
Pispolo is one of the apartment of a restored ancient building. This building has had various uses in the past, accomodating animals, families and pupils, too! It used to be an elementary school, this is why there are palm trees in the garden (quite unusual in Tuscany countryside!). Now it is a complex with beautiful views on the surrounding countryside that hosts 6 apartments, all tastefully furnished in Tuscan country style. The front door opens directly on a very quiet part of the garden. It is provided with garden forniture, so that you can relax and have breakfast, lunch, aperitivo or dinner alfresco. Not to mention after dinner relax!
Pispolo is on the ground floor. It has been refurbished in June 2009 and a new window has been open in the living room. There is a large living room with double sofa-bed, dining area and kitchen, a bright double bedroom and bathroom with shower.
Some visitors ask about air conditioning. The answer is that you will not find it at LA SCUOLA apartments but the good news is that you don't need it unless you are unusually sensitive to heat! If you open the shutters and windows at night to let the cool air in, and closes both shutters and windows during the day to keep the heat out; problem solved (and the mosquito nets will allow you to have a quiet sleep)!
Our beautiful swimming pool, with a shallow end perfect for the children, is situated in our own characteristic olive grove. There is also a BBQ house!
This apartment is loved by couples and families, with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during the stay. It is situated in a peaceful and panoramic location, immersed in the green hills of the Parco delle Cerbaie and in the Padule di Fucecchio (unique area where even storks come to nest). It is located in the very heart of Tuscany, with the art cities of Pisa, Lucca, Firenze within very easy reach and many lesser know treasure little towns still to be explored nearby.

There is a nice country bar / restaurant / pizzeria (also to go) you can walk to.
In Fucecchio there are typical restaurants, pizzerie, wineries, characteristic shops, shopping centres, sports grounds (tennis, golf, horse-back riding facilities).
We prefer to send driving directions depending on the origin of our guests. We are very close to either an exit Firenze Mare A11 to the motorway Firenze-Pisa-Livorno. The airports of Pisa Galileo Galilei (low cost Ryanair) and Florence Peretola are easily reachable in less than an hour.
Ryanair in Pisa flies low cost from/to: Birmingham, Bournemouth, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow Prestwick, Leeds, Liverpool, London Stansted and Dublin.
Facilities
The beds will be made ready for your arrival, and there will be bath towels put out for you. With airlines continuing to cut down on luggage allowances, we will also provide pool towels at 3 euro per piece per week. You can laze on sun loungers by the pool (you have 2 sun lougers, a table and a sunshade there). You can relax in the garden sipping an aperitivo while the tomato sauce boils in the kitchen, then have a nice dinner alfresco. Communal washing machine available, charges are applicable. Internet on demand, charges are applicable. Pool is open according to season (Usually 1st of May-30th September).
Activities
We are in a very quiet countryside, very easy to reach but not in the middle of nowhere. In less than 1 hour you can reach almost every tourist destination in Tuscany: the tower of Pisa, Collodi (Pinocchio's birthplace and theme park), Pistoia and its beautiful white and green marble facades romanesque churches, Florence, Vinci, Lucca that is only town in Italy entirely surrounded by walls, Montecatini Terme with the spas, San Miniato, Certaldo, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni, Volterra and, why not, the seaside, the golden strand and nightlife of Versilia.
At walking distance there is a nice bar/restaurant/pizzeria (also to go), at 3 kms there is a grocery shop open until 12PM, while in Fucecchio (5kms) there all the shops you might need, there is also a brand new PRADA outlet shop.
We will make sure you have all the infomation about what is going on around you. Leaflets and city maps (and tips) will be given at your arrival.

On the penultimate weekend of May the town of Fucecchio hosts the traditional horse race Palio delle Contrade. The Palio delle Contrade is an important kermesse, a sort of commemoration of the Contesa which took place in Fucecchio around 1200. The last Palio performed on June 14th 1863: in that moment, the Giostra was buried, until today, when the twelve contrade give life to this old challenge. It is a day that passionates of traditional festival should not miss: an historical parade takes place in the morning, while the horse race is held in the afternoon, at Buca del Palio. Travel Options

- Travel Info: LA SCUOLA Holiday Home is ideally localted. It is in a peaceful and relaxing setting, while still it is very easy to reach it and to visit the masterpieces Tuscany is famous in the world for. Just between Florence and Pisa airport, it is also close to the motorway exit of Altopascio of the A11 and not far from the Superstrada Firenze - Pisa - Livorno. A 25% non-refundable deposit is due when booking. Balance to be paid 2 months prior arrival. Please note that full payment will be required for any bookings made within 2 months of the start of the rental date. We can accept bank transfer payments in Euros only. Payments accepted also through credit card (plus 3% credit card charge). The client is recommended to arrange comprehensive travel insurance (including cancellation cover), baggage, personal belongings and public liability etc., as these things are not covered by the owners insurance. Long weekends rate available (except July and August), please enquire. Periods not shown on the price chart: please enquire.

Die ferienwohnung war spitze: sehr geräumig, sehr sauber und wunderschön eingerichtet! Es war so schön ruhig! Endlich konnten wir uns richtig erholen. Das haben wir vor allem im garten vor unserem haus mit einer schönen flasche chianti-wein gemacht! Aber auch der swimmingpool war ein traum!

We stayed for 2 weeks in the 1 bedroom flat and that was perfect for us, i.e. 2 adults and 1 child. The flat was very clean and it was great to get towels and bedlinen provided. The pool and grounds are kept very clean and tidy by the gardeners. The large grounds are perfect for kids to play football and freesbee in. Having access to a washing machine was great when staying for longer than 1 week. La Scuola is situated in a very quiet and rural place, but only 5 min away in Torre there is a very good bar/resturant. The best pizza and antipasta! We loved our stay and can definitely recommend La Scuola. Our flat, La Rosa, was situated at the "quiet" end of the house, which meant that the other guests didn't walk by our flat on the way to the pool and their own flats. Not very important, but we felt we had a more privacy when eating outside etc. Tiziana and Walter were very friendly and helpful and the whole experice from booking to arrival and departure was very stress free. Thank you for a great holiday!

From the minute we arrived we felt looked after & were met personally by the owner who gave us a very thorough explanation of the local area which was really helpful. We also had a couple of questions during our stay which were dealt with immediately.
The accomodation was basic but equipped with everything we needed, including plenty of outdoor furniture for sitting in the evenings with a glass of wine watching the Tuscan sunset!
The pool was kept very clean with plenty of loungers for the all important relaxing in the sun!!
Overall a lovely holiday apartment for those who wish to explore Tuscany, it is essential to have a car as you will need to drive to the town but nothing better than making some dinner with a glass of wine enjoying the peace & quiet of the Tuscan countryside.

Elegant spotlessly clean apartments situated in wonderful grounds with spectacular views. It's really quiet and calming and you can't help but have a huge grin when you first look down over the rolling hills and Cyprus trees!
The pool is out of this world, with the added bonus a huge BBQ to take advantage of the yummy local food and wine. Tiziana is a great host that provides you with some really invaluable information about what to see, local events and even the weather report. She's really friendly but will let you get on with your holiday in peace while being a text message away if you need help of advice.
The location is spot on for exploring, being central to all the major places just between Pisa and Florence.
It was a home away form home for us and I wished we could stay longer.
