VILLA SAN SIMONE: HISTORY,ELEGANCE AND CALMNESS  
 
Located near the city walls of PISTOIA (5 kilometers), splendid tuscan city of art, VILLA SAN SIMONE is an historical residence, perched on the foothills dominating the Florence plane (30 min. from Florence,40 min. from Lucca, 50 min.from Pisa and the sea, 60 min. from Siena and Chiantishire)  
The true Tuscany, its art masterpieces, its wines and foods, its fashion designers are in your hands ! 
The Villa was built at the end of the 19th century on the remains of a medieval convent and a romanic church from the 11th century AD from which the villa has taken its name. 
Villa San Simone has a large shaded garden and it’s surrounded by olive groves and forests and a peaceful private park of 60.000 square meters, where deers and squirrels live. 
The Villa is furnished with antique furniture by the owners, two well known architects, who live in villa and will be happy to offer you all the tips and hints required and also the exquisite products of their garden and olive grove. 
 
The apartment "ABSIDE 6" (6 people ), on first floor with elevator, is comprised of a large living/dining area with kitchen and 2 large and comfortable double sofa beds, two double bedroom, with two complete bathroom with shower en suite. 
It is tastefully furnished with antique furniture and has antique terracotta floors. 
The apartment is completely equipped with gas stove, electric oven, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, tv set, DVD player, DSL Internet 
The shadowed garden and the large private park of the villa are at disposal of guests. 
 
Means of access 
Villa San Simone is easily accessible from the airport of Florence (30 min.) or Pisa (50 min.), by train (Railway Station of Pistoia 15 min), by urban buses and obviously by the car ( motorway 10 min) 
 
Hints and Tips 
The historical centre of Pistoia with its Cathedral, Baptistery and the Town Council and Mayor palaces of the 12th and 13th century is one of the most interesting and beautiful place in Tuscany. In the main square, the “Piazza del Duomo” twice a week is held a big market of clothes and shoes. In July Piazza del Duomo hosts musical events, a famous Festival Blues and a tournament knightly in costume, la “Giostra dell’Orso. In town there are many good restaurants, pizzerie, wine cellars and pubs, where possible to taste Tuscan specialities at fair prices. In Pistoia you can visit various interesting museums and exibitions, including that of the famous sculptor Marino Marini , born in Pistoia, or the Fattoria di Celle park, unique in Italy for its works of environmental art. 
Pistoia is also the European capital of the nursery plants and hold some of the best producers craftsmen of the chocolate ( i.e. Catinari, Slitti ) and some famous producers of luxury linen for the house (Pratesi). 
Near Pistoia there is an important thermal center, Montecatini Terme, reachable driving in few minutes or by train and the thermal complex "Grotta Giusti", one of the more famous SPA centre in Italy.  
Villa San Simone is placed in one of the most convenient position for to visit the main cultural and artistic attractions of the entire Tuscany. Florence and its monuments and museums can be comfortably reached by train, in half an hour, avoiding the traffic and the problem of parking. 
Also the other major historical centers of the Tuscany ( Lucca, Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano, Arezzo) can be easily reached in about an hour. The Medici’s villas of Artimino, Poggio a Caiano, Castello; 
Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo 40-60 min.; the elegant beaches of Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi 45-60 min; the wonderful landscapes of Chianti and its famous wine, 60 min.; the outlets and shops of famous fashion designer, like Prada, Gucci and Ferragamo in an hour. Certainly you’ll not have such a way of tiring you !
