An architect and a painter living in an old farmhouse that they have restored. The house is divided in two units. The home for rent is completely independent with its own garden. It's situated in the Mugello Valley, an area which is highly preserved and with a very intact environment.

The house appears in "Country Interiors" and in the book "Tuscany Style" both recently edited & published in six languages by Taschen.

Florence is 35 Km from the house, about a 45 minutes drive to the center of town; the connection with other art towns in Tuscany (Lucca, Arezzo, Siena) and with Florence airport is very convenient because the entrance to the highway is at a distance of 15 Km. The villages of Barberino di Mugello (where a bus service to Florence is available) and San Piero a Sieve (where a train service to Florence is available) are about 12 Km (7 miles) from the house. Both villages have Banks, Post Offices, Shops and Supermarkets.

The place is 5 Km from the Bilancino lake (the lake is visible from the garden), surrounded by well signposted trails and several sport facilities (windsurf, canoe, sailing, mountain bike, trekking, swimming). The Golf Club Poggio dei Medici where the green can be booked is at 10 minutes drive from the house.

We think the house is very cosy and comfortable, just like a home. It has a nice large kitchen with all facilities. The private garden has a beautiful view over the lake of Bilancino and a large separate loggia where you can enjoy your meals "al fresco".

On the ground floor there are two quite large bedrooms and a nice bathroom with a shower, one bed room has a King size bed, the other room has twin beds. The kitchen has a big chimney, dining table and a comfortable sofa. There is also a small storage room with washing machine. Upstairs there is a large living room, a comfortable bathroom and a small studio. Satellite TV is available in the livingroom as well as DVD player and CD audio player. Internet connection by Wifi is available.

Electricity is included in the rent, if heating will be needed the gas is charged on the side, on the base of meter reading.

In the house you will find basic kitchen necessities like sugar, our own olive oil, coffee, tea, marmelade and jam. We will also let you find fresh bread and milk for the first morning.

We would be pleased to welcome you with a glass of wine in our loggia the evening of your arrival, or the next day at your convenience.

Linen and towels are of course in the house.

It is an ideal location for artists, writers, poets and all who love peace and tranquility.
