Casa del Fabbro is a 3 bedroomed traditional stone mountain house. With views over the Lima valley and is set in the quiet village of Benabbio, nestled in the hills above Bagni di Lucca, which is famous for its thermal spas. Close to the ski resort of Abetone, just under an hour away, and the Versillian coastline which is also an hour away. There are numerous activities available within a close proximity. Cookery courses are available locally as are horse riding, fishing and tennis. 3 outdoor swimming pools, fed by the thermal springs, are a welcome addition to an active and relaxing holiday.
Casa del Fabbro is arranged on 3 levels with a bathroom, 2 double bedrooms and a single bedroom on the 2nd floor, with lovely views over the Lima valley. The 1st floor has the kitchen/dining area and the living room, again with views over the valley. Many houses in mountain villages do not have outside space. This house, however, has a private terrace with an outside table, chairs and a parasol so you may enjoy a home cooked Tuscan meal or simply have a lovely glass of wine and a good book.
There is room to store your bikes or skis, should you wish to bring them and parking is close to the property. The house sleeps 5 comfortably and the surrounding area has some fantastic walks and treks which is perfect if you are a keen walker or mountain biker.

Children are most welcome, however, care must be taken with the little ones as the stairs are made of stone.
Casa del Fabbro is an old Tuscan stone house and, regrettably, is not suitable for wheelchair users or people with mobility problems.
A family run pizzeria is within walking distance and further down the hill in the main section of the village shops and a further restaurant can be found.
Facilities
Bagni di Lucca offers a host of bars and restaurants, which is approximately 10 minutes down the hill.
There is a night club in Chifenti, which is open during the weekend and hosts musical events as well as the usual night club scene. Also in Chifenti there is a fantastic ice cream bar with numerous and wonderful flavours available.
Approximately 25 minutes up the mountain from Bagni di Lucca, Orrido di Bottri, the local nature reserve can be found. Here you can: take a tour and explore the gorge by walking up the river bed, marvel at the wonderful wildlife - maybe spot a golden eagle or see some rare plant life, or simply have a lovely picnic and enjoy the peace and quiet. During the summer a festa is held there and local produce e.g honey or cheese can be purchased. There is also a large barbecue which is a great experience to mingle with the local residents and soak up the Italian lifestyle.

Viareggio is approximately 50 kilometres (30 miles) away and the Versillian coastline offers some lovely beaches.
Pisa is the nearest airport approximately an hour's drive away 65 kilometres (40 miles). Fornoli (Bagni di Lucca's train station) has a direct line to Lucca.

Borgo A Mozzano is approximately 15 minutes away, by car, and has the famous bridge Ponte della Maddelena. Also known as The Devil's Bridge. The city of Lucca is 30 minutes away and a magnet for Puccini fans. There is a museum dedicated to him and open air concerts are regularly held to celebrate his works.
