Vacation Rental Description
Casa del Fiume is a recently renovated property (ready March 2010) retaining its original features. It is arranged on 2 levels with a bathroom and 2 double bedrooms on the 1st floor, which have lovely views over the River Lima. The house sits in the hills above Ponte a Serraglio in Bagni di Lucca, which is famous for its thermal spas.  
 
The ground floor consists of a living room, kitchen and dining area. There is room, in the cantina, to store your skis or bikes, should you wish to bring them. The house sleeps 4 comfortably. A complimentary food hamper and a selection of wines are provided for your enjoyment. The surrounding area has some fantastic walks and treks which is perfect if you are a keen walker or mountain biker. There are numerous activities available within a close proximity and a restaurant and bar are just 5/10 minutes away on foot. Cookery courses are available locally as are: horse riding, fishing and tennis. 3 outdoor swimming pools, fed by the thermal springs in Bagni di Lucca, are a welcome addition to an active and relaxing holiday. 
 
BEDROOMS: 
Bedroom 1 with double bed and wardrobe. 
Bedroom 2 with twin beds and wardrobe. 
 
BATHROOM: Shower, toilet, bidet and basin. 
 
KITCHEN: Cooker, fridge(with a small freezer compartment), microwave oven, kettle, toaster and coffee making facilities. 
 
LIVING ROOM: Open fire with lounge and dining seating for 4. A TV, DVD player and a Playstation2 games console are provided and DVDs and Playstation games are supplied. Books are also provided. 
 
CANTINA: Washing machine including an area to dry clothes on inclement days and room store bikes, skis etc. 
 
OUTSIDE: There is a balcony, which is a perfect place to have a lovely glass of wine or cup of coffee. The garden has a table and chairs, for alfresco dining and a barbecue. Plum trees grow in the garden and you are most welcome to help yourself when they are in season. 
 
Children are most welcome, however, care must be taken with the little ones as the stairs are made of stone. A cot, high chair and changing mat can be provided, if required. 
Some elderly residents do live in the area and Casa del Fiume is suitable for elderly guests provided that they are mobile and able to walk with ease, as parking is not possible near the house and there are a set of steps up to the property. 
 
BEACH: Viareggio, is approximately 50km (30 miles) away and the Versillian coastline offers some lovely beaches. 
 
TRAVEL: Pisa is the nearest airport and is just an hour away, 60km or (40 miles). Fornoli in Bagni di Lucca has a train station with a direct line to Lucca. Ideally a car is recommended, however, buses are close by and it is relatively easy to get to your tourist destinations.

Bagni di Lucca 0.5 miles (1km) - 2 minutes by car. 
Fornoli 0.5 miles (1km) - 2 minutes by car. 
Lucca 14 miles (2 km) - 30 minutes. 
Pisa 35 miles (56km).

    • All rates include electricity, gas, linen and towels. Towels, however, are not provided for use in the local swimming pools or swimming in the river. We, therefore, kindly ask that you to bring your own towels if you wish to use those facilities. Linen is changed and the house is cleaned during your stay if your booking is for more than 7 nights. Bikes are available for you to use, just let us know when you make your booking and we will arrange for them to be waiting on your arrival.

    • Abetone is only 45 minutes by car and is a lovely resort, whether you are an experienced skier or a novice. There are numerous ski schools and shops offering equipment for hire. The routes are well laid out and are not over busy, unlike some of the resorts in the Alps. Car parking is close with a number of parking areas. Ski competitions are often held, which are exciting to watch or take part in! 
     
    Tennis court are available for hire, just 2 minutes away by car, in Bagni di Lucca. 
     
    Walking and mountain bike tracks are literally on the doorstep. At the foot of the steps to the house, a track leads up to Granaiola. It's a good steady walk and a restaurant will be waiting at the top for you to provide lunch or a well earned thirst quencher!

    Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. Euros are accepted. We are flexible with our changeover days and the house can be booked per night, at a rate of £70.00 per night with a minimum stay of 3 nights. We accept payment via PayPal. A deposit of £100.00, for each week booked, will be required on booking and the remainder to be received 8 weeks prior to your date of arrival. Should you wish to cancel the booking at any time, then 80% of the deposit will be refunded provided we receive written notification 8 weeks prior to your arrival. An additional security deposit of £100 will be required with your booking and this will be refunded within 10 days of your return home, provided there are no breakages or damage to the property. Should there be any damage, then a proportion or all of the deposit will be withheld to pay for the necessary repairs or replacements.
