In the ancient thermal city of Bagni di Lucca, between Lucca and Garfagnana’s area, La Torre is situated on a dominating position in the valley, formed by the confluence of the Lima stream with the Serchio river. 
The building’s origins are in the 1500, and for many years was the house of the wealthy Clarke sisters from Minnesota (USA), then became a center of studies of the Bologna University. 
Abandoned in the early 90’s, La Torre was bought by the Tintori family and after many years of work, today it has returned to its ancient splendour thanks to a careful job of restoration of the agriculture and its buildings. 
Surrounded by olives and chestnuts trees, Paolo and Laura are glad to welcome you in Casa al Rio, an apartment with elegant furnished in the Tuscan rural style and obtained from the ancient farmer’s house. 
The apartment is characterized by the original glass window that fills the living-room with light, and by the fireplace restructured in its ancient form. It has independent entrance as well as a table placed outside under "pergola" of grapes. 
During your summer stay you can use the swimming pool, where we use the advanced “sea salt electrolysis” disinfecting system that avoids the use of chlorine. 
You also have the illuminated bowls area, the table-tennis, mountain bikes, a coin washing machine, internet point with wireless area, playground for children and two barbecue. 
At the characteristic restaurant (80 metres) you can have breakfast or dinner with special typical menus prepared with what we produce in the farm and the local products.

In the farm you can use the swimming pool with sea salt electrolysis (no chloride), the enlightened bowls area, table tennis and mountain bikes. You can also walk and enjoy the surrounding nature by following the paths in the chestnut wood. For the groups we can organize moreover a course on the typical kitchen Tuscany in a rural atmosphere.

We organize trekking and excursions: by foot or by jeep on the beautiful mountains of the Tosco-Emilaino Appenines, on the rocky Apuane Alps; in the caves (famous is the Wind Cave); excursions on horseback in two near handlings (western or classic British);  
Personalized visits in the famous cities of Tuscany like Lucca (25 km), Pisa (50), Florence (85), Siena (120), the Etruscan Volterra (90), the medieval S. Gemignano (90) are just two examples, not to mention the whole Chianti area. 
For those who prefer to stay closer you can enjoy the thermal treatments in Bagni di Lucca at 2 km from the farm, visit the famous Maddalena Bridge also known as the Devil’s Bridge on the SS12 at 4km. 
Visit Garfagnana to live the rural traditions of its places or enjoy the bustle of Versilia with its numerous beaches and nightclubs. In the winter, for ski lovers, Abetone is half an hour’s drive.
