Il Poggio is a beautiful tuscan stone countryhouse with large swimming pool and 5 bedrooms. The house, completely independent, is ideal for large families or group of friends and offers a high degree of privacy.Il Poggio, situated on its own hill, offers a wide, spectacular vista of the gentle rolling countryside of the Upper Tiber Valley. Green hills merge into olive groves , and then merge into vineyards, fields, and silent rows of cypresses, offering possibilities for relaxing walks while enjoying the spectacular view of the lake and valley below. The private swimming pool with a furnished pergola is secluded from the house by well-established trees. Swimming in the oversized,7 x 14-meter pool (21 x 42 feet), surrounded by olive groves and lavender bushes, is a gift to both body and soul.It is opened from May to October. The pool is maintained every day, ensuring it is kept clean. 
 
The farmhouse has been recently restored by local craftsmen with great attention to detail, maintaining the traditional ambiance of a typical Tuscan farmhouse.It features beamed ceilings, stone walls, tiled floors, and comfortable furnishings including antique pieces. The five large bedrooms offer stunning views from each window. 
 
From the large covered loggia (balco) for outside dining in the summer, you can enter the house. Another entrance is from the kitchen door, in a covered open area where the ancient wooden bread oven is placed. A stone staircase leads upstairs where there are two large double bedrooms with their own private bathroom. A corridor, with access to two bathrooms, leads to another double bedroom, to one twin bedroom and to the attic. The well-kept gardens are planted with herbs and scented flowers, lavender, broom, iris and climbing roses and are provided with comfortable garden furniture and outside cooking facilities (barbecue and oven for pizza).Property has its own spring  
 
Guests at Il Poggio will find all necessary information about local history, folklore, and traditional cuisine. They can choose between dining in one of the many fine restaurants; or they can prepare their own meals or barbecues using typical, country-fresh produce from the local markets. Sansepolcro is approximately five km away, and lies in a valley where the river Tiber begins. A town steeped in art, with remnants from the 14th and 15th centuries, it was the birthplace of Piero della Francesca; and some of his paintings can be seen in the local museum. Even though Florence, Arezzo, Siena, and Perugia are more famous cities, there are equally memorable places to visit like Monterchi, Anghiari, Gubbio, Cortona, Assisi, the Franciscan Sanctuary in La Verna, and Caprese Michelangelo, the birthplace of the great Michelangelo Buonarroti. All these cultural sites provide a fascinating itinerary in the heart of the region where the Renaissance has its deep roots.  
The lucky visitors of the Valtiberina will find themselves plunged into incredibly variegated nature, in some instances spectacular and immaculate, here and there dotted with hermitages, ancient farm-houses witnessing its rural life, country parishes and castles. Sansepolcro, the nearest village, is only 10 minutes away driving on the E45, there you will find supermarkets, general stores, post office, baker shops, butchers, bars, chemist and internet access. It is best known for having given birth to Piero della Francesca, the most important painter of the Renaissance, he depicted the Tiber Valley landscape in his paintings, some of his best known frescoes may be seen in the Civic Museum: the Renaissance, the San Giuliano, the Virgin Mary of Mercy. In the town: the Lace Museum (dedicated to the art of Lace that made Sansepolcro famous in the world), the Herb Museum of Aboca, the Museum of Leaded Glass. A typical Tuscan terrace (balco) where in the summer you can enjoy outdoor meals al fresco. A wisteria-pergola offers its shadow for cool and refreshing afternoons. The gardens are provided with comfortable furniture and outside cooking facilities (barbecue and oven for pizza). A kitchen garden offers genuine product and aromatic herbs,our guests can gather and use them for cooking. The private large swimming pool,illuminated at night,is amply equipped with furniture for relaxation and a large eating gazebo. Towels and linen included (weekly change).Hair Dryer in each bathroom. Baby cot and high chair, linen for cots. Maid service provided as an option.
