There are open air concerts in the summer at Lucca, the Blues Festival in Pistoia in July and the Puccini Opera at Torre del Lago. There are also music evenings at local restaurant in Vellano plus dances at the social club.
This is also a great walking and cycling area plus there is a winter sport resort just an hour away.
