Vacation Rental Description
Nestling in a Tuscan hamlet, a 130 square meter farmhouse built on the ruins of an eleventh century stronghold, is brought back to life by the magic of sensitive and intelligent restoration.
It is independent, enjoys a panoramic view and is located 6 kilometres from Anghiari, a medieval village classified as "one of the most beautiful villages in Italy”: the battle which took place there inspired Leonardo da Vinci.
A few kilometres along the road, you will find Caprese, the town where Michelangelo was born, and Sansepolcro, home town of the famous artist Piero della Francesca. The house has two floors and the grounds are bordered by low stone dikes and garden terraces full of olive trees.
The house has beamed ceilings and terracotta floors. It is quiet and restful with charming surroundings.
A car is essential.
On the ground floor, overlooking the garden is a large multi-purpose room (can be used as living room or bedroom), with 2 double folding beds, from here 2 steps lead to a room with a four-poster double bed 2m/2m and to a bathroom. The living room opens onto a covered terrace with a large wooden table – very pleasant for al fresco dining in summer. There is a superb pizza oven, also useful for grills.
The garden is strewn with olive trees, vines, lavenders, rose bushes, a fig tree, small tomato plants, a giant rosemary bush, thyme and basil. An outside shower allows you to refresh yourself in the open air.
On the first floor, you will find the dining-room and the kitchen with a central unit with electric oven and gas stove. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, dryer, refrigerator and with a fireplace with a grill.
From the dining room, one reaches by 2 small steps another double bedroom with king size bed 2m/2m and a large bathroom equipped with a superb old-fashioned bath-tub.
The wash-house is equipped with a washing machine, iron and ironing board and an additional refrigerator. There is also an independent shower-room.
A television with satellite decoder as well as DVD and board games are at your disposal.
In the cellar, two mountain bikes are also available.
