Vacation Rental Description
Dating from the 1700s, the villa originally housed monks from the local town during the summer harvests. Renovations have carefully restored the original beamed ceilings, terracotta floors and the 6 huge arches facing out to the valley. Modern improvements include underfloor heating supplied by a state-of-the-art wood pellet boiler, a hand-made maple kitchen with stone worktops, a wood-burning stove and double-glazed windows, making it a perfect holiday house for winter or summer.
The ground floor consists of a large open kitchen/dining room, with a separate utility area. There is also a comfortable sitting room with a log-burning stove for winter visits. The first floor has a large hallway with the 3 upper arches looking out over the valley, off which lie 3 of the bedrooms. One twin and 1 double share a family bathroom, the third bedroom has a double bed and en-suite shower room. The top floor - reached by a spiral staircase - has a further double bedroom, one single bedroom (with option of travel cot for babies) and a shower room.
A formal garden lies to the front of the house surrounding a large terrace. A table for 8 people with large umbrellas entices alfresco dining. For further shade and relaxation, the loggia under the arches is set with both a lounging area and a further table for dining. The swimming pool is located on the next terrace down, surrounded by the olive grove. Sun loungers are provided for 8 people as well as further large shady umbrellas. A small seating area with table and chairs for 4 are provided in the shade of the olive grove.
