Lago Verde was once a simple healthy farmland which has now been transformed into a comfortable lodging. Surrounded by green pasture and beautiful countryside, this recently constructed place makes use of local stone, wood, old style ceramics, and wrought iron to hark back to the old times. 
 
The small town of Alia, a typical picturesque countryside village with earth colours and narrow winding streets, can be admired from the large terraces of Lago Verde. Situated between three main centres -Palermo, Agrigento and Cefalu – Lago Verde is ideal as a base to discover the many faces of the Palermitan province. Although little known these past cultures are certainly no less fascinating. The contrasting scenaries stretch from the Cefalu seaside, the hills of the Madonnie and the feudal castles standing testimony to the history of our interland. 
 
Everything on our farmstead has been structured with the countryside tranquility and nature in mind. The hustle and bustle of the city fades into a distant past. With this in mind, there are green lawns and spaces where various activities can be indulged in. These include gardening, fishing in the green lake, and the old country byways ideal for walks or bicycle rides. 
 
Getting to Lago Verde by car is easy. If coming from the capital Palermo, one needs to take the Palermo-Agrigento freeway and then take the “Enna” exit, following the signs to Roccapalumba-Alia. If coming from Catania, simply take the autostrada to Palermo, the “Resuttano” exit and then follow the SS121. If coming from Messina, take the Messina-Palermo autostrada, exit at “Buonfornello” and follow the SS113 to Cerda. From there follow the signs to Alia.

This area covers a large part of the territory (43 Communes) of the Palermitan hinterland. Most of the land is given over to agriculture but there are also a great many natural reserves including Bosco di Ficuzza (Godrano), Monte Genuardo, S.M. del Bosco Grotta di Entella (Contessa Entellina and Giuliana), Monti di Palazzo Adriano e Valle del Sosio (Palazzo Adriano; Chiusa Sclafani) and the Gurfa in Alia. Other buildings of historic, architectonic and ethno-anthropological interest include fortified country houses, hamlets, chapels, paper mills, windmills, bridges and drinking troughs, all of which, alongside the archaeological and prehistoric sites, are a fully integral part of the territory and highly representative of the area’s history
