Cardedu is situated on the Sardinian south east coast, near Arbatax, S.Maria Navarrese, in Ogliastra. Is a small town just few minutes away from a crystalline sea and a rocky and sandy coastline. The region (Ogliastra) is particularly rich of archaeological areas too: the amazing "domus de janas" of Monte Arista, or the "menhir" of Costa Iba. Among the principal natural monument there are the "nuraghe" Tronconi, Musciu, Perd`e Pera, Genn`e Masoni and the temple as pothole of "Su Presoneddu". All the area offers possibilty of hiking as well. The coastline present two kind of coast: the sandy coast which expand for more or less 4,5km, in which you will find lots of different beaches, as the one of Foddini, or Tramalitza, Museddu, Perd`e Pera; then after we find the rocky coastline which expand for at least 1km, characterized from is red color and from the "macchia mediterranea" (is a shrubland biome in the Mediterranean region, typically consisting of densely growing evergreen shrubs such as holm oak,tree heather, strawberry tree, sage, juniper and myrtle); almost at the end of this rocky coastline we find a beach named Coccorrocci (which means rocky in Sardinian), because is all made of distinguishing and unique stones. There are lots of different popular routes of touristic interest. Besides the popular and organized ones such as the "trenino verde"(on a typical small train) and the visit by boat from Arbatax of the golf of Orosei (where u can visit, as said of different newspapers, few of the most beautiful beaches in the world like Cala Luna, Cala Goloritze, etc), you can do more on your own. By car or by walk, you can rich lots of different places (from mountain to sea)in a short time. Then you will find the fantastic local food (which from my point of view is one of the best thing!) such as cheeses, fresh milk and wines. in the village (Cardedu) there is a very furnished market, a fresh pasta shop where you can find the specialities of Ogliastra`s food and a butcher`s shop/rotisserie where
you can ask to prepare for you the amazing, typical sardinian pig! The villetta is located in a quiet area just outside Cardedu (3 or 4 min by car) with plenty of fruit and olive trees only three minutes by car from the sea.
