Hall of Fame Vote for me
This stylish detached villa with private pool and sea and mountain views offers the perfect location for a relaxing family getaway. Everything is close by, the sandy beach, marina and local bar, pizzeria and tabacchi are a 2 min walk.
The lovely market town of Pula with its nightly summer concerts in Piazza Popoli and numerous restaurants and gelateria is a 5 minute drive. Nora beach and the extensive Roman ruins can be found on the edge of the town. Is Molas International golf club is a 7 minute drive and Blu Fan aquaparc is 5 minutes by car. The whole SW coast is a gourmet beach lovers dream with Chia (20 mins) voted by Daily Telegraph readers 'Best Mediterranean Beach' and Lonely Planet have Sardinia's beaches listed in the top 5 of world beaches. Cagliari a 35 minute drive is a wonderful Baroque and Medieval city to explore with it's historic walled Castello District or just watch the world go by under the arches of the grand cafes on Via Roma.
When you've had enough fun exploring you can return to your luxurious villa and relax on sun loungers around the pool, read a book from our library shelves, enjoy an alfresco meal courtesy of the kitchen or BBQ, listening to the cicadas chirp...

The Sardinia region
Sardinia has long been Italians favourite holiday destination... now with many cheaper connections from UK many British holidaymakers are discovering why the Italians love it so much. Sardinia has the cleanest sea in the Mediterranean, with crystal clear water up to 40 metres deep in places. With miles of pristine silky sandy beaches, and one of the most beautiful coastline in the Mediterranean... Sardinia is completely unspoilt. Its large size and the low numbers of coastal hotels means it is not overwhelmed with tourists so retains its local character.
The remains of past civilisations dot the landscape from Nouraghic towers to Roman ruins and the later Spanish towers which rise every few kilometres along the coast. Combine the natural and cultural beauty with the friendly laid back Sardinian people, wonderful Sardinian dishes such as roast suckling pig, maloreddus the local pasta, famous pecorino cheese, sweets such as padulas and torrone and wonderful sfuso (local wines) from €1 a litre... try the cannonau (red) and vermentino (white). It all makes Sardinia a relaxing holiday destination which is hard to beat..
But Sardinia is more than beaches and unspoilt mountain scenery. Cagliari is a sophisticated city with wonderful Baroque and Medieval architecture, pavement cafes, department stores, art exhibitions, museums, a Roman amphitheatre and a great place to do a walking tour or catch the open-top bus or tourist train. Ohh... and don't miss the flamingoes on the drive home!
The Pula Sardinia / Perd'e Sali area
The pretty town of Pula has a market every Tuesday and concerts most evenings through the summer from Jazz to Pop and the odd string quartet or piano recital. It also has lovely shops and street markets during the summer months.
On the outskirts of the town is the Roman city of Nora which is situated on a beautiful headland with a gorgeous beach to one side where you can snorkel over the remains of parts of the town now underwater. The villa is 5 mins from aquaparc and 7 minutes from Is Molas International golf course. There are a number of outstanding beaches within a 30 minute drive for you to explore.
Sardinia has a rich cultural heritage and there are many festivals starting with St Efisio in May and including Ferragosta in August where flower-laden carts pulled by oxen arrive on Nora beach carrying the Virgin Mary. There is a mass followed by a procession of fishing boats and a massive firework display. Museums and events displaying Sardinian culture including music and dance are available throughout the summer.

Guestbook for Villa Vico del Porto
"The villa was stunning, the situation was perfect (2 minutes walk from a wonderful taverna serving great pizza and with incredibly friendly owners who will chat to you in French, if your Italian isnt up to scratch also very close to Pula for a great evening out watching the world go by in the piazza), and wonderful owners who really make you feel like part of the family for the day when they take you out on Hejira (their beautiful yacht). Simply a wonderful base for a perfect holiday. The photos don't do the villa justice. A wonderful place to have an evening in by the barbie after a dip in the pool(that you really can have a decent swim in). We'll definitely be returning. Thanks Colette and Martin. " Kathy, Manchester
Beautifully presented villa with pool, sea and mountain views in unspoilt area of Sardinia
We sailed to Sardinia in 2006 on the way to the eastern Med. After a winter in Cagliari we fell in love with the Island and its' people. Sardinia is under-populated; and friendly and welcoming to visitors. It has probably the most stunning and unspoilt coastline in the Mediterranean. We know, having sailed around it a number of times...as well as much of the rest on the Mediterranean. We offer a luxurious home from home in a local village with bar/tabbachi/pizzeria around the corner and just a 2 minute drive from Pula, the prettiest town in southern Sardinia.
