Varenna has some of the best small restaurants, trattoria's & pizzerias on the Lake, most of which are found in these rustic cobbled streets dating back to Roman times and only a minutes’ walk away. This house is also 100m from the main square and only a 5 minute walk from the ferry terminal, following the lake side path.
Anybody who knows Varenna, will appreciate the combination of charm and town accessibility, via road, ferry and the railway station. This allows those who do not wish to hire a car, to arrive by boat or train.
The town of Varenna is an attractive mix of old town houses and apartments, many with adjoining street balconies and joint street access. This townhouse however, is modestly different in that it has its own front door, the property is spread over 3 floors and has a roof terrace with views of the lake and a good degree of privacy.
We believe from a location and privacy perspective this town house is ideally suited to travellers of all natures. Cars can be parked in the town square 100m away, but this house is only a 10 minute walk from the railway station and a 5 minute walk from the ferry terminal to the centre of Varenna.
Varenna is not only a favourite honeymoon destination but also a popular place to get married and Villa Cipressi, the Hotel Victoria, Albergo Milano and Hotel du Lac accommodate many guests with several involved in hosting wedding ceremonies.
We have ensured that a perfect location is also supported by wonderful interior facilities and furnishings. The townhouse is split into two parts the main house and the additional studio apartment just below.
The main house is approx. 115msq and is neatly arranged over 3 floors. Through the entrance hall on the ground floor, a warm & welcoming living room beacons with soft, nutmeg brown leather sofas, walnut wood furniture, ornate marble fireplace and a sophisticated, stylish kitchen & breakfast bar. Entertainment is fully catered for by way of a 32" Plasma TV with English Satellite channels & DVD Blu-Ray Player.
The master bedroom and en-suite shower room are on the first floor together with a second shower room next to the spiral staircase leading up to the loft bedroom & roof terrace on the third floor.
The master bedroom is furnished with distressed 'Oyster' painted king-size bed, 3 door wardrobe, large set of drawers and bedside tables. A comfortable night’s sleep will be guaranteed with the an exceptionally high quality 'Vi-Spring' mattress. For the early morning news or late night movies, a flatscreen plasma TV & DVD player are mounted on the wall at the foot of the bed.
The loft bedroom is furnished with 3 single beds and luxury Vi-Spring mattresses. There is a free standing walnut mirror & clothes stand, set of walnut drawers & 2 bedside tables plus a 32" Plasma TV, DVD player and Xbox with games.
Out on the sunny roof terrace, there is a table and set of 5 chairs.
The Studio is approximately 50 sqm. It boasts an additional kitchenette, bathroom with shower and dining area. There is also a comfortable double bed, sleeping up to 2 adults. The Studio is reached through it's own entrance below the main townhouse and would be perfect for a large family or a group who required the additional space & privacy.
Skiing in the area is bountiful with resorts such as Madesimo 1.15 hours to the north and the local ski resorts of Piani di Bobbio & Pien della Betulla, only 40 - 50 minutes away.
Travelling by train is so easy & cheap in Italy.
