5 Bedroom Bed and Breakfast in Lavagna

We are in Liguria, sandwiched between the South of France & Tuscany with Piemonte just behind us. 
Ryanair, Alitalia and BA all fly to Genova airport, less than an hours drive away . 
Or you can fly into Pisa (1.5 hours) or Milan. (2.5hours) 
You will find Castagnola 64 nestled amongst the terraces of the Ligurian hills, 500 metres above sea level, between Genova and La Spezia. We are 8km from the A12 Autostrada....if you have a 4x4 vehicle you can drive right upto the house, otherwise park your car on the country lane & the stone step footpath through the vineyards will bring you to the house...don't worry, we'll bring up your luggage! 
At the bottom of our stone steps is the "Ca di Prei`" trattoria, beautifully restored and enough courses to fill you up for a week! Which is fortunate as they're not open very often!! If they are, make the most of it! Trattoria La Brinca is only 2km away...michelin starred ..we're happy to book you a table there as well. 
We're high up on a hill, about as remote as you can get without going wild. Our woods are full of wild boar and we're really lucky to have a family of eagles nesting up there too. 
Most of our terraces are used for organic farming of olives, fruit and vegetables. 
We use much of our own produce for breakfast & dinner and the Gazebo is a perfect eating spot. Leo makes a wicked 'melanzane parmigiano' ! 
The nearest village of Conscenti, a 15 minute drive away, has a tourist office, bank,2 bars ,another Michelin starred trattoria IL MOSTO, general stores, bakers, doctors surgery and a chemist. 
A further 15 minutes takes you to seaside Chiavari or Lavagna where if you want, you can take a train further afield. Most of our visitors love the famous Cinque Terre, Portofino & even more love the not so famous Sestri Levante & Camogli. 
As we're 4km from the bus stop you really do need transport, we're happy to provide you with information on local car or scooter hire . 
We think our rooms are great. All of them are self contained with en suite shower rooms. Clean and fresh looking with stunning views over the valley. The rooms are serviced daily and you might even fancy breakfast in bed.....

All our rooms have central heating & double glazing if you're planning a visit during the winter months. In the summer, the stone walls keep the rooms cool enough so that unhealthy airconditioning is not needed. Your room will be cleaned daily & bath towels & bedlinen replaced when required. You're welcome to use our line to hang out any handwashed items or for those travelling with grubby children I'm happy to put on a load for you. We don't have TVs in the rooms as we think the view from your room will be much more interesting. All our rooms have small fridges & we're happy to lend you cutlery etc if you want to prepare yourselves cold meals. We do have a small pool & decking which you are very welcome to share with us.

First of all, when we say nearby to the beach & shopping....it's 12km away or about 20 mins in the car. 
Everything else is pretty much on the doorstep .... perfect for hikers & mountain biking. 
Indian Forest Climbing Centre is only half an hour away up into the mountains..which is great for kids or very brave adults on the black climb. 
Local rock climbing instrucors/guides/maps are also available...lots of well appointed sites either up in the hills or down on the coast. 
During the summer months there are lots of local 'festas' where you can dance & eat or simply stare at the locals.
