Vacation Rental Description

Vieste is a town in the province of Foggia, in the Apulia region of southeast Italy.

A renowned marine resort in Gargano, Vieste has often received Blue Flags for the purity of its waters from the Foundation for Environmental Education.

The town is bordered by Mattinata, Monte Sant'Angelo, Peschici and Vico del Gargano. Till a few decades ago, its main resources were fishing and agriculture. Now, however, the great development of tourism, with modern hotels, villages and campings has transformed both the appearance of the place and its economy and style of life.

The coast is very interesting from a geological point of view. The erosion by water and winds has shaped the calcareous rock into grottoes and archs. Since the coast is steep, some of the finest sights can be reached only by sea.

Moreover you can find beaches of the finest sand, pebbly beaches and, a few miles to the west, you can enjoy the cool in the shade of the trees of "Foresta Umbra" on very hot days.

The apartment is located at the third floor of a 4-floor Arab-style building with a lift. It has been recently renovated.

The nearby bus station links Vieste to many cities: San Giovanni Rotondo (the town where the famous Padre Pio lived), but even the most distant Rome, Milan, etc.

From the port of Vieste, which is about half a mile far, you can embark for the delightful Tremiti Islands.

Vieste offers both bathing services (on beaches you can rent umbrellas, small boats, windsurfing boards, etc. and you can have lunch at one of the many on-beach-restaurants) and night entertainment (pubs, pizzerias, Italian restaurants, small clubs on the beach and the well-known Waikiki Disco of Peschici, about 15 miles far from Vieste).
