Ostuni is a beautiful medieval town with white-washed houses, cobbled streets and breath taking views across the countryside and natural coast line. A short drive away are the unspoiled beaches lapped by the clean waters of the Adriatic. The whole area is a food and wine lovers paradise with local fresh produce and wonderful local wines available everywhere. Puglia being a peninsula is flanked by both the Adriatic and Ionian seas, no wonder the numerous fresh fish shops outnumber the fresh meat shops. This is no holiday for those seeking mass tourism, slot machines, English pubs and fish and chip shops but it is for those who love quality but inexpensive restaurants, the atmosphere of local piazzas, friendly people, relaxed living and some of the best ice cream and coffer around. The towns of Lecce, Brindisi, Alberobello are close by.
