The House.

The location. (Post code 66010)

The house is situated in Orni, a small hamlet, near the towns of Canosa Sannita and Tollo. The area is perfect for those who want to be away from it all and those who want to be in a few minutes of town life. Just 20 minutes drive gets you to the turquoise waters and the sandy beaches of the Adriatic, also in 40 minutes you can be walking in the cool mountain air of the maiella.

Details of the Interior: upstairs

The large and spacious lounge opens out onto the veranda, and has a leather 3-piece suite. The farmhouse kitchen has a canopied open fireplace and terracotta tiled floor and also has French windows to the veranda. Off the main hall, there are three bedrooms, two of which have ensuite bathrooms and one has its own separate bathroom. Two of the bedrooms contain king size beds, the master bedroom also having access to the veranda. The third bedroom has two single beds. From the main hall, a staircase leads to the downstairs area which has recently been refurbished. This area contains a spacious bedroom with a king size bed, a large shower room, a utility area with a washing machine and sink and a spacious kitchen/lounge/dining room. This room leads directly onto the driveway, from which the large patio area at the back of the house can be accessed.

The outside
The house is set in an acre of ground laid out with vines and olive trees. There is a large private patio area at the back of the house. On two sides of the house is a veranda which is wonderful for sitting out whilst admiring the views of the Maiella and the Gran Sasso mountains. The drive way can accommodate 4 cars.

The local region
Abruzzo is one of Italy’s best kept secrets. It is described as the garden of Europe. It is a protected paradise of beaches, hills, woods and mountains. It has the highest peak in the Apennines, the Corno Grande (2914M) and also the southern most glacier.
The golden sandy coast stretches for mile after mile with many beautiful beaches to choose from at, Francavilla, Pescara, Montesilvano and the local beach of Lido di Riccio. The public beaches are free or you can hire parasols and sunbeds on the private beaches. The beach slopes gently down to the sea making bathing ideal for children of all ages.
The mountains are ideal for exploring in the summer and in the winter there are the winter sports. Skiing is usually available between December and April. The closest resort is Passo Lanciano which has a variety of runs and there is a ski school. There are resorts at Roccaraso, Campo Felice and Campo Imperatore. The region is famous for its cross country skiing.
Iin 20 minutes you can be paying a round of golf at the Miglianico Golf course. Or in 40 minutes there is the Aqualand centre at Vasto is an ideal day out. July and August mark the start of the festive season with the local towns having their own celebrations, including music, wine, food and fireworks. Pescara and Francavilla al mare having spectacular displays which rival any display in the world.
Pescara offers a vibrant city life and its marina is one of the largest on the Adriatic. There a many and various restaurants with menus ranging from pizza to haute cuisine.

How to get there
Abruzzo airport at Pescara currently has direct flights from London, Rome, Milan, Frankfurt and Turin.
A car is required, but driving is easy and gives you the freedom for unlimited exploring.

Any booking a month or longer is by negotiation

A 25% deposit is required on booking with the balance due 8 weeks in advance. The deposit is non refundable.

A breakages deposit of £150 is to be paid with the final payment. This will be refunded within 10 days of departure, subject to property inspection.
