Vacation Rental Description
Situated in 4 acres of trees, just 5 min walk from the sleepy village of Serramonacesca right on the edge of the National Park (della Majella) this converted 200year old farmhouse offers tranquility and escapism. Relax on the large terrace, or by the 12 m swimming pool with the sun all day and take in the amazing views, walk through our olive grove (+ appl;e pear, fig, walnut &hazlenut trees) down to a small river on the edge of our property and through the surrounding countryside. There is much to do just a short drive away, during both the Summer and Winter, from the wonderful safe, sandy Italian beaches of the Adriatic, relax in the natural hot springs in the hills or go skiing/walking in the mountains. Sleeps 7 comfortably but can take up to 12 if both Poolhouse and Log Cabin (hired seperately) is used. The farmhouse is not just a "Buy to Let" but has been furnished as our house to retire to.We have just added two log cabins, the first, the Poolhouse that can be used as a separate bedroom with en suite (2 singles) to the farm, and a larger Log Cabin on extremity of our land giving complete privacy both to people in the farmhouse and also the cabin. The cabin has a separate bathroom, kitchen and cathedral lounge with a 7m terrace, The bedroom (sleeps 2-4) is in apex of roof. The Log Cabin enjoys astounding views of village and surrounding mountains. Not possible to park car adjacent to cabin, requires a short walk up a hill. Log Cabin is normally only available to rent to people staying at Olive Grove Farm for largr parties & is not included in pricing. For further info see website olivegrovefarm. Facilities
The modern kitchen is fully equipped to a high standard, The "Open Room" offers good cool shade in the height of the summer with beautiful Italian antique furniture. There is a computer (not connected to internet, football table, keyboard (musical), darts etc in bedroom 3. An outdoor table tennis was added this summer. Completly safe for children will a small shallow brook (very clean) at the bottom of our land -ideal for young children to play in and build dams etc. We also have a travel cot, high chair and camera baby alarm (but no bedding or other baby "items" The farmhouse is approached via a gated entrance, up a 100 metre concrete drive through the olive groves and other trees. Activities
The ski lift is only 30min away and is open in the summer for high mountain walks and of course in the winter for skiing. The safe,sandy beaches of the Adriatic are only 20min away by car with plenty of free parking (if you get there early)but the beaches are never "too" crowed. We have 2mountain bikes as the surrounding countryside offers many tracks for walking and cycling.
The village is alive in the evenings with two bars and many Italians living in other European countries coming back for a holiday. There are many village festivals both in Serramoncesca and surounding villages to allow one to really sample local life and culture without being ruined by tourism. If one wants night clubs etc they are available 20 min by car in other towns. Being Italy there are plenty of local (and cheap) wonderful restaurants to pass the night away.There is an external table tennis table, a canoe, a football machine (hand operated), a keyboard and Karoke machine for the more musically minded

- Nearest Town : Serramonacesca at 0.5 kilometers distance
- Travel Info: One can fly directly to Pescara (20min away) or fly to Rome and take the 2 hour motorway drive over the mountains (cost 12 euro). Rental cars available from both. The nearest train station would be Chieto or Pescara. Bus, taxi available. More detail directions are sent on confirmed booking. Normally car required for holiday.

Booking/Securiy Deposit required immediately of 250 UKP or 350 Euros. This is returned fully 7-10 days after your departure. Final payment is required 3 months before arrival. Cancellation more than 3 months 40% of booking/security returned.Less than 4 weeks to arrival date 25% of rental is returned + booking /security deposit Prices are based on max of 6 but very reasonable rates for extra people can be discussed.

Stayed twice now. Lovely house with really great views of surrounding country and mountains. Spent most of our holiday lazing by the pool - which was superb. Village was wonderful, really enjoyed the locals, very friendly, although apart from two bars not much going on in village. Some great really cheap restaurants- we ate out most nights. Some local festivals realy good but parking difficult. A really relaxing holiday
