Vacation Rental Description
Abruzzo is often described as the garden of Europe, the green lungs of Italy. This beautiful and unspoilt region is situated half way down Italy's Adriatic coast and is the most sparsely populated region of Italy with a third of its area protected, which has no equal in the rest of Europe Our apartment is positioned in a very quiet rural spot, but within walking distance of shops, bars and a lovely restaurant. The well-equipped apartment comfortably sleeps 6 people and has a lovely sitting out and barbecue area where you can sit back, relax and observe a sea of olive trees and grape vines. With the Maiella Mountains in the background it makes a perfect spot to relax while sampling the local wines.
The apartment consists of 3 spacious double bedrooms, each room having a lovely open aspect view of either open countryside, the mountains or an olive grove. A huge open plan lounge/dining area/kitchen makes it very relaxing and perfect for a family holiday
The apartment is situated off a very quiet private road, which serves just one further property meaning passing traffic is at a minimum. There are open views from every direction.
If you decide to 'eat in' you can relax on your own private patio area, with the use of a fixed barbecue, set amongst 3 acres of olive groves.
The property is also suitable for children, in which swings and a slide are available to keep the younger ones entertained.
A lovely 15 minute walk takes you to the ruined tower of Raone which dates back to the 11th Century. From this area you get 360 degree views of the area including the two mountain ranges of the Maiella and the Gran Sasso. The tower is situated on public land so is a great place to enjoy a picnic and a glass of the local vino as you sit back and watch the sun go down. Plenty of wildlife can be seen on the walk to and from the tower with wild boar, hares and owls regular sights.
There are so many things to do both locally and further afield. We have details of many tourist attractions and other suggestions for keeping you as busy as you want. These details are at the apartment in the form of a visitors information pack.
If you are interested in a mountain or beach holiday, a hiking or walking holiday there is so much to do for all ages and abilities.
If you want to visit Roman ruins, historic hilltop towns or explore fantastic mountain caves, or even take part in a wolf-watching excursion, then we have details of all these and a lot lot more.
If wine is an interest we can arrange wine tasting at the local wine cantinas. Our nearest cantina is a lovely 10-minute walk through their vineyards, so you can forget about the car, sample the wine and return for a barbecue.
We have details of many local festas to enable you to enjoy the Italian experience. Most of these festas are based around food and wine as well as live music. Even the small villages have 4 or 5 bands playing in different corners of the village so you can choose your favourite, sit down and eat and drink and relax.
Our aim is for you to start your holiday on day number one and eliminate the need for a first day visit to the tourist information office
Facilities
We have a swimming pool/plunge pool, great fun for the children, relaxing for the adults. Lie back in the pool with a view of the peak of Mount Camicia above the olive trees
Activities
Staying in our apartment you have the best of both worlds, as we are only 20 minutes drive away from both the beautiful coastline of the Adriatic, with its golden sands and the rugged, unspoilt mountains of the Apennines.
It makes the perfect spot to get so much out of your holiday, no matter what sort of holiday you like.

£150 deposit (or 25% which ever is the greater) is required to secure the booking, with the balance payable 8 weeks prior to the start of the holiday. A £150 security deposit is required to cover for damage, which will be repaid within one week after the end of your holiday less any monies due to damage incurred during your stay. We accept accidental damage will happen and will not deduct money for the odd breakage.
