Vacation Rental Description
The house is situated in S. Croce at the top end of Caramanico Terme from where there are lovely views of the surrounding countryside and mountains.
A short stroll down the hill finds you in the village with its quaint cobbled streets and interesting historical buildings. Here you will also find all the shops, restaurants and friendly local bars. Sit in one of the many squares enjoying a coffee and ice cream or a nice glass of wine while watching the world go by and taking in the wonderful scenery.
If you are feeling more energetic, from the back door the track goes straight into the mountains and joins the network of mountain trails from where you can enjoy the impressive scenery of the Maiella National Park with its abundance of wildlife.
The house itself is a traditional Italian terraced house set over 4 floors.It is fully furnished and equipped with kitchen / diner and separate lounge for you to relax in. The central heating ensures that the house is cosy in winter after maybe a days ski-ing or walking. The solid stone walls keep the house cool in summer, ideal to come back to after a day on the beach.
There are two main double bedrooms upstairs to comfortably sleep 4 people. Both the bedrooms have built in wardrobes with plenty of space. There is a small fold up bed available also for the larger bedroom suitable for a young child.
There is a toilet suite on the second floor.
On the ground floor is the cantina, which has been converted into a third bedroom / second living room complete with futon / sofa bed. This level also houses the main shower room / toilet.
Through from this room is the fully equipped laundry / utility room with washing machine, tumble drier, clothes drier and ironing facilities.
Outside there is a small area where you can sit and relax or chat to the very friendly English speaking Italian neighbours who will be only too pleased to tell you about all the area and whats on.
In the summer the village of Caramanico has a variety of events organised most evenings that are all free to join in with, such as the outdoor cinema and musical events and special programmes for the children.

In the village there is a swimming pool, tennis courts, childrens play parks, trim trail and picnic areas. There are many restaurants and bars both in the village and immediately surrounding countryside catering for all occasions and price ranges.There are lots of small interesting shops plus all the shops that provide for the basic neccesities (baker,butcher,chemist, small supermarket etc).In the summer there are many festivals.
All this is set to a backdrop of the mountains of the Maiella National Park from where you can go on the many hiking trails in summer or go cross country skiing in winter. Further skiing slopes are found a short drive away.
If you prefer the beach there are many miles of beautiful sands along the coast about 30 to 40 minutes drive.
Caramanico Terme is also well known for its healing spa and attracts people from all over the world to take the health giving waters and consult with the multi lingual physicians.
