Vacation Rental Description
The Little Green House is an extended terraced cottage on the edge of the old part of Wicklow town providing comfortable accomodation and a family base for upto 6 people (plus baby) with easy access to Dublin, and the Counties of Wicklow, known as the "Garden of Ireland", and Wexford.
Linked by an express bus (133) from Dublin airport to 50m from the front door, and with good road links to the ferryports at Dublin (1hr), Dun Loaghaire (1hr) and Rosslare (1.5hr), the house offers easy access from the UK and Europe.
The house offers an open plan ground floor with seating, dining and kitchen areas for 6 people with an adjacent toilet/shower room and an upper floor with one double and two twin bedrooms and a family bathroom.
The house is centrally heated with cooking and water heating by gas, and the rent includes all gas, electricity and linen including towels (except for swimming towels).
Outside, the garden offers a child safe enclosed patio and a terraced garden leading down to off street parking and a rear access.
If you do not bring a car, car and bicycle hire are available in the town and express buses (nos 2 & 133) go down to Arklow or up to Bray & Dublin & the airport.
Wicklow town offers a wide variety of shops and boutiques as well as restaurants and bars to suit all tastes. It also offers facilities for wet weather including indoor swimming pool and gym(1 mile), Kidszone and bowling alley (2 miles)and the Wicklow Gaol (500 yds), a notable tourist attraction. A multi screen cinema forms part of the Bridgewater shopping centre in nearby Arklow(15m).
To the north of the town lies the Murrough (1m), a 10 mile beach of turf and stone and backed by a nature reserve and the Vartry river, where the locals exercise themselves and their dogs, and behind these can be seen Big and Little Sugarloaf mountains.
The town has a working harbour, serving trawlers and a vibrant timber trade. Above this lies the remains of the Black Castle, where St Patrick is said to have first landed in Ireland and been chased off.
To the south are the Wicklow Golf Club (1m) and the cliffs and old lighthouses where you may walk and see the local grey seals, basking on the shore or swimming and feeding offshore.
Further south are the sandy beaches typified by Brittas Bay (8m), a 3 mile stretch of golden sand and Enereilly (10m), great for sea fishing.
Golf is well served for all abilities with championship courses at Druids Glen and Heath(10m)and the European (12m) and 25 other courses spread throughout Wicklow with the nearest Wicklow (1m).
Riding and horse trekking is available at the Devils Glen(8m), and walking and hiking can range from the long distance Wicklow Way, accessible at Roundwood(12m) through the Devil's Glen Sculpture Wood (7m)and the woods and Avoca River at Avondale(8m) to walks along the cliffs and beaches upto Newcastle and Bray or down to Brittas and Arklow.
Fishing is available as either sea fishing (boats available for hire on the Murrough), from the beaches at the Murrough or Enereilly or fresh water from the Vartry river or lakes at Roundwood(12m).
Wicklow, as the "Garden of Ireland", offers award winning gardens at Mount Usher(6m), Powerscourt Garden and Waterfall(20m) and the National Garden centre(10m) as well as smaller ones in season.
Glendalough(15m), an early Irish monastic settlement, offers an atmospheric place to walk, think and reflect on those early Christian people and others who mined the ground's riches.
County Wicklow offers something for everyone and the Little Green House provides the perfect base for groups of up to six people (plus baby) to tailor a holiday to their specific tastes.

The house is set out with an open plan ground floor providing a seating area with sofas and armchairs, TV, DVD player and open gas fire. This leads into the dining and kitchen area provided with gas cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave and with crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils for a family of six and more. To one side is the shower room with toilet, shower cabinet and basin and the stairs leading to the upper floor, which can be gated off to provide a safe play area for young children. Upstairs provides a bathroom with toilet, basin and full length bath and three bedrooms, one double complete with TV, video player and looking over the garden and two twin rooms at the front of the house.
Outside the back door is an enclosed patio leading down through the terraced garden to the rear access and parking for 1 car. The garden bounded by hedges and planted with shrubs, offers a high level of privacy.
