Owner Location Comment
Southwest Wexford is a beautiful, castle dotted countryside. Benefitting from the best of irish weather , aptly earning its nickname the sunnysoutheast , South Wexford enjoys the driest , sunniest climate in Ireland. The regions south west of wexford town - where this property is located also enjoy the dramatic cliff edged beaches and long strands that are typically irish. The port of Rosslare ensures year round tourism which means that all facilities are open year round. The relative affluence of the area allows for execellent restaurants and leisure facilities to thrive.

Idyllic - where did you get the lighthouse candleholder and the chrome antlers over the stairs?
how refreshing for a rental property to provide all the basics you really need to feel comfortable and "on holiday "
We loved reading about the night sky and local fishing ... great recommendations on local restaurants - we loved Bridies pub and amazed to attend Arlo Guthrie gig at local pub venue !!
We absolutely loved Scar Bridge Cottage and will return....soon.

We loved this property and this holiday. We had intended staying in a hotel but this property was recommended by local relations and we were really pleased that we booked and stayed here instead. My parents ended up spending most of their time with us at the cottage ( bit bigger really more of a neat country home). The kids LOVED the gardens and their room with its sloped ceiling and gorgeous beds facing eachother . It was a real delight and we have recommended it to others. I have learnt that the owner is a professional interior designer and this place certainly ticks the boxes of just homely enough to relax in, just quirky enough to be interesting and absolutely spotlessly clean!

This was our honeymoon and we loved cooking breakfast on the aga and eating in the delightful clematis covered summer house overlooking the river. Nice touch to provide glass storm candle holders and plentiful throws and we had a bottle of wine here each night too ! Our dogs enjoyed the grounds , a swim for them every morning in the river. The decor is tasteful , very comfortable and interesting and we did not feel we were in a " holiday home " but that we had borrowed some lucky friend's country pad! Would highly recommend Lobster Pot and Kehoes Pub for food and Ballyhealy beach for long walks. Our trip to the Hook lighthouse was recommended by Kate and we really enjoyed it - stunning scenery.
The house was spotlessly clean and fresh upon arrival and our late arrival was accommodated by the friendly caretaker. Highly recommended.

This really was the ideal retreat - perfectly descibed by owner Kate - yet still everything seemed such a lovely suprise , better even than expected when we arrived. we loved having the space to spread out , my husband and I read in the lovely snugroom and enjoyed the music cd's provided whilst our sons watched the tennis in the sittingroom , then retired to play pool in the games room. We relaxed by day in its wonderful mature gardens and found it a perfect location from which to explore stunning Wexford. Great restaurants and pobs although I must admit to being very domestic and loving cooking on the aga - a slow cook to be enjoyed after a walk on Ballyhealy beach.
