A long, narrow lane leads to the cottage and takes you to a different world: one in which the loudest sounds are made by pheasants in the surrounding fields or the cormorants on the river. A recent guest says “just the sound of the birds and breeze are the best soundtrack for a really relaxing break.”
It is possible to see otters and salmon in the wild, and a huge variety of birds, while you unwind in this historic, comfortable house and riverside garden.
The recently redecorated cottage, which retains its traditional charm, will allow you to rediscover lifes simple pleasures. It would be difficult to find a more peaceful, romantic and secluded location for your holiday, it is perfect for nature lovers, bird watchers, artists, fishermen and walkers.
All modern conveniences are provided. Bed linen and towels are included in the price, as well as household items such as cleaning products and basics for the kitchen. (List available)
Well-behaved pets are welcome.
We have just completed building a hide on the riverbank for watching otters, wildlife and birds.

You will find plenty to do nearby, if you can tear yourself away from the cottage. There are abundant beaches and coves to explore, mountains and hills to be climbed. Historic towns and castles to be visited and many a memorable meal to enjoy. There are plenty of opportunities to sample Irish culture as there are Irish music pubs and an Irish speaking area nearby.
