Decoy Country Cottages is a converted farmyard which has been lovingly restored to provide the highest standard of self catering accommodation in a peaceful and tranquil setting. This beautiful five star self catering accommodation is just 30 minutes from the airport and 60 minutes from the ports, this is the ideal location to explore the wealth of historic sites in this Royal County.  
 
The cottages are surrounded by beautiful parkland countryside and is a perfect retreat for those who wish to get away from it all and recharge their batteries. It is an ideal choice for families wishing to organise family reunions. It is also ideal for groups of friends who want to holiday together. There is a day spa on site where you can enjoy luxurious face or body treatments from our highly qualified therapist Louise. 
 
Guests can avail of the playground, the “den” with a comfortable sitting area, wood burning stove, satellite TV, DVD/Video player and a library of DVD’s and videos and board games as well as an outdoor play area for children. Upstairs there is a games area for older children with pool table and air hockey as well as a gym with treadmill, cross trainer, bike and weights. Children are welcome to feed the ducks, chickens or the goat, and maybe even bottle feed the lambs, and there are always eggs to be collected! Should you be arriving late, what could be nicer than having a hot meal ready for you. If you require this service this can be arranged. 
All of the units are finished to the highest standard, and have under floor heating, marble or oak floors, fully fitted kitchens with granite worktops, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge/freezer, electric hob, oven, microwave as well as double Belfast sinks. All bedrooms have solid oak furniture and oak floors. You can rest assured that you are minimizing your carbon footprint as all our heating and hot water comes from a geothermal system that utilises the renewable energy in the ground. 
 
The Stables is a 3 bedroom unit and is spaced out over 2 floors: On the ground floor you have a spacious kitchen/dining area fully fitted with all mod cons and views of the courtyard and rolling countryside behind the courtyard. The separate living room is spacious and has satellite TV/DVD/Video, stereo and wood burner as well as a downstairs toilet. Upstairs boasts a double bedroom with en-suite shower, a double/twin (please confirm when booking) with views over the countryside and a twin bedroom with views over the courtyard. Both of these bedrooms share an interconnecting bathroom with shower over bath.

We have a fantastic Den that is available free to all our guests. It has books, DVD's, games and videos that people are free to use in their own cottage. There is also a gym and an air hockey table. In addition to this we have a fantastic on site day spa called Revive where our skilled therapist will pamper you so you can relax, unwind and recharge your batteries. If pampering is not your thing, why not shoot a few hoops on the basketball court or collect the eggs from the chickens or feed the goat, ducks and horse.

We are very fortunate to be situated in the heart of Meath which is the Heritage capital of Ireland. We are 5 minutes from The Hill of Tara which used to be the seat of The High Kings of Tara (who used to rule Ireland). The Hill of Tara has some burial mounds and is also the place that St Patrick preached to the people of Ireland. There is a statue there dedicated to him today as well as a visitors centre. The solstices are celebrated by large crowds here every year and it holds a special spiritual significance. 
 
Decoy Country Cottages is only 10 minutes from Newgrange which has burial tombs that are older than the pyramids in Egypt and Stonehenge by 500 years. That makes them 5,500 years old. They boast the best examples of megalithic art in Europe. There is a fantastic visitors centre here and as well as Newgrange there is Knowth and Dowth and many un-excavated tombs.  
 
Trim Castle is the best example of a Norman Castle in Ireland and is 20 minutes away.
