Best known for being the setting of the film, 'The Quiet Man', this quaint little settlement offers special tours and an abundance of memorabilia are available to commemorate the motion picture. Visitors can explore the remains of the majestic Cong Abbey, founded in the twelfth century by Turlogh O'Connor - King of Connaught and the High King of Ireland – and the Market Cross which celebrates two former abbots of the Monastery.
