Real countryside,Very peaceful,Tastefully decorated. FISHING
This 18th century restored farmhouse is absolutely beautiful and furnished with taste. It is situated in some of the most gorgeous countryside in the world - Connemara, and it is famous fishing territory. My husband and I restored the house with a great deal of care not to remove any of its character as sadly many of these types of houses were knocked down. It is very comfortable and has ensuite bathrooms for all the bedrooms. We used all natural local materials like stone and wood throughout. From our bedroom you can see the lake. The rooms are big and spacious with high ceilings. On the upper level we have put seating areas in all the windows so that the lovely countryside can be viewed - with the help of a good book and a glass of wine! We are a 20 min walk through lovely lanes to the village of Clonbur, Co Galway. It is very hard to describe the beauty of the surrounding countryside - the deep blue lakes, the stillness and the huge skies- but God really did kiss the earth there it is so stunning! The house is situated 5 kilometers from Ashford Castle and all its wonderful grounds. We are 40 mins from Galway City and the house is between two fantastic lakes - Lough Mask and Lough Corrib. If you love to fish this is fishing country and we can put you in contact with excellent gillies. We are also 40 mins from white sand beaches which are totally empty and unspolit. During the summer all the locals swim in the lake which is 5 mins from the farmhouse. There are plenty of country sports like walking and riding.
