Benchoona is simply but comfortably furnished (carpets throughout).
A CAR IS RECOMMENDED as the bus service is only available once a day in the Summer and weekly in the Winter. The roads are all right for cycling, but hilly along the coast. It is good walking and hill-wlking country.
Fishing can be arranged nearby; Golf is 8 miles south of Clifden; Tennis is at the Renvyle House Hotel (which has a short 9-hole golf course too, and Horse Riding) about 6 miles away around the coast. The main town nearby is Clifden, 16 miles distant, to the south. Westport is about 20 miles north in Mayo. There is a Community and National Park Centre at Letterfrack (about 5 miles south) where they should be able to answer any of your enquiries. There is an Irish Tourist Board Office open in the Summer in Clifden, and a large year-round office at Aras Failte, Eyre Square, Galway (60 miles).
