Liss Ard has been a retreat in the past to numerous celebrities, including Oasis, Lou Reed, Van Morrison, Patti Smith and Nick Cave. Companies like Debenhams, Laura Ashley and K-Shoes have taken advantage of the beauty and luxury offered by Liss Ard to carry out photo shoots.

Liss Ard House (a Georgian country manor) with its adjacent Walled Garden House is set in 200 acres of woodland and exquisite gardens. Its sister property, the Liss Ard Lake Lodge, is located on the same estate.
The main rooms have breath-taking views over the Lake Abisdealy and the surrounding woodlands, and rooms in the Walled Garden House have special access to their own private gardens at the back. Although the buildings have central heating, there are a number of open fireplaces around the Liss Ard House (in the dining room, sitting room and three of the bedrooms) to provide an ambience of an old-world romanticism for those special occasions.
