Lough Ine House.
This elegant regency House was built in 1830 by Lord Carbnerry who used it as a hunting lodge. It sits in a park of 6ha of fields woods and gardens, 4km from Skibbereen and 3,5km from the fishing village of Baltimore. It has its own beach from which you can swim or launch the rowing boat to explore the lough and the island. It is a protected nature reserve of outstanding beauty where you can observe the wildlife that lives along those shores. At the entrance of the park there is an 18th Century Gate Lodge that is rented separately.
Lough Ine House is a four star house which sleeps 10 people in one double four poster bedroom and four twin bedrooms. On the first floor there are two large bedrooms with the most stunning views, each of these rooms have material on the walls. Another bedroom with view on the garden, and a large bathroom with bath and shower. Separate WC. On the ground floor there are two woodpanelled twin bedrooms with a bathroom each with bath, shower and WC.
Very elegant drawing room with period furniture. A very large conservatory off the dining room and the kitchen allows you to read in the sun, or to have drinks with your friends before meals while enjoying the views. In the conservatory is an old vine dating from 1830, a very well equipped modern kitchen with two ovens and a 5 gas hob, Miele dishwasher. Fridge and freezer. Laundry room.
Ping Pong room and rowing boat add to the fun of the place.
From the house and from the Gate Lodge you can enjoy the most glorious views of the sea, the fields and the mountain. Lough Ine has a very special old fashion atmosphere about it. If you like walking dont miss a walk to the top of the Knockomagh Mountain, or around the lough, through the fields to the rapids. The place is yours to enjoy.

Lough Ine's position allows youu to enjoy a wide range of activities from sailing in Baltimore where you can join a sailing school, organising days out on a boat to take you to the hundreds of islands of Roaringwater bay. You can go sea fishing or exploring Sherkin Island or Cape Clear. Both are beautiful.
If you prefer river fishing you can get a permit to fish on the river Ilen.
The place is a paradise if you like walking or if you like Golf which is a mile behind Lough Ine House. 18 holes.
West Cork is so beautiful that you will want to drive to Ballydehob, Schull,Crookheaven and Mizen head, see the three castles, visit Bantry House. Or go towards the east to Castletownsend and Glandore. The choice is endless.
