Vacation Rental Description
Crab Cottage is located on the west side of the Roury River valley at Mill Cove, between Rosscarbery and Glandore. The property has a remote feel but yet is only seven minutes drive from Rosscarbery village with its shops, restaurants, pubs and sandy beaches. There is a small pebble beach 7 minutes walk from the cottage at Mill Cove.
The cottage has recently undergone a total renovation to provide a combination of the charm of an old house in a fabulous location with all the modern utilities necessary for a comfortable and relaxing stay.
Magnificent panoramic views can enjoyed from Crab Cottage. The house is perched high above the Roury Valley providing views of the sea, Galley Head Lighthouse, Long Strand and Mill Cove slipway to the south; the river valley to the east; and the valley, the ruins of Coppinger's Court and the distant Dunmanway mountains to the north.
Inside the living area is open plan with slate flooring and a wood/peat burning stove as well as new and efficient central heating. Opposite the lounge area is an excellently equippped kitchen with teak worktops, electric range cooker, dishwasher, Smeg fridge, Dualit toaster and kettle. There is a solid oak dining table which easily accommodates six people. The large separate utility area contains a washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, Belfast sink and plenty of space for drying outdoor clothes. Downstairs there is a large bathroom with bath and basin and a separate toilet. In addition, there is a bathroom upstairs with a toilet, basin and shower.
There are three bedrooms upstairs: two twins and one double. All have sea views and the double has a huge picture window. The house has a large hot water storage tank providing plenty of hot water. A travel cot and high chair are available. In the lounge there is a television, DVD and video player, CD/radio and a selection of books, guidebooks, games and DVD's/videos.
Outside there is a lawn area with mature trees and a wooden deck with teak table and chairs. Although the garden is fun for children to play in, with a swing, basket ball hoop and pleanty of space to explore, it is not enclosed.
Well behaved pets are welcome at the descretion of the owner, please discuss before booking!
