Down River House is a delightful south-facing detached holiday home on the riverbank with incredible views of the waters of the Ilen Estuary, close to the little village of Lisheen. The cottage is stylish and comfortable, and boasts accommodation including four bedrooms and an open-plan living area complete with spectacular views and cosy open fire. This area is described as the gateway to the best sailing off Ireland. Boat hire is available right outside Down River House, so why not hop aboard and explore the beautiful islands and beaches nearby?

Full oil central heating throughout with additional heating from open fire in living area. Electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, colour TV, video. Washing machine and dryer in separate utility building. Fuel and power charged from meter reading on departure. Linen and starter pack of fuel for open fire inc in rent. Cot and highchair available on request. Sloping lawned area and patio with garden furniture. Ample off road parking. Sorry, no pets. Pub 1.5 miles and shop 1 mile. Note: There is direct access to the riverbank from the property and children should be supervised at all times. Skibbereen is a thriving market town that prides itself on superb local produce including seafood, meat and bread from its own bakery, and weekly country and farmer markets. The intriguing West Cork Arts Centre and the enthralling Skibbereen Heritage Centre, along with interesting shops, great restaurants and lively pubs are all to be found here, suffused with the town’s famous warm welcome. Situated in the midst of some of Ireland's most spectacular scenery, walkers, cyclists and drivers can all enjoy easy access to the sandy beaches, secluded coves, tranquil lakes, rivers, hills and forests in the area. An indoor sports centre with fully equipped gym and an excellent 18-hole golf course are available for the energetic holidaymaker. There are many pretty towns and villages nearby to explore including Kinsale (aka the “Gourmet Capital of Ireland”); Leap; Rosscarberry; Ballydehob and Bantry. All prices are inclusive of the booking fee. Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.
