Quin is an historic village about 9 miles from Ennis in County Clare, and is home to a heritage site, Craggaunowen, which interprets Ireland’s pre-history and tells how the Celts arrived and lived in Ireland.

Dangan Gate Lodge was originally a working gate loge, now tastefully restored and converted to offer accommodation for up to 4 people. This detached property still retains a traditional half-door and is faced in tone. The Lodge nestles in the owner’s organic farmland and visitors are able to do a spot of trout fishing in the river that runs through it or walk through the fields to see the rare-breed cows and ponies. A rear garden offers ample opportunity for a spot of summer dining and there is off-road parking for up to 3 cars. The pub and shops are within a 2-mile walk.

Craggaunowen includes reconstructions of dwellings, farmsteads and forts, and the ancient castle is also an attraction in its own right. A major feature is the Brendan Boat built by Tim Severin, who sailed from Ireland to Greenland, re-enacting the voyage of St. Brendan, who is reputed to have discovered America centuries before Columbus. Quin Abbey is a well-preserved ruin of a Franciscan friary founded in 1402 by Sioda Macnamara. Quin also has its own castle: Knappogue Castle & Gardens. Located in a truly picturesque setting, the castle is surrounded by tranquil landscapes and the rolling hills of Clare. Beautiful Victorian and walled gardens surround it and Medieval Banquets are held in the castle twice nightly from April to October.

OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date.

Last Minute Breaks (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the 'Low', 'Mid', 'High', 'Peak', 'Christmas' and 'NEW YEAR' periods. A 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date.
