Fanore is a village popular with walkers, surfers and tourists, situated between Ballyvaughan and Doolin in County Clare. The village has a lovely sandy beach, and the area is also of specific interest to botanists and geologists, because of its location on the edge of the Burren which is famed for its rugged landscape and unique flora and fauna, and rugged landscape. Lisdoonvarna - Ireland's premier Spa town – is nearby, and the 150 year old Matchmaking Festival takes place here every year during the September and October. The town’s eight pubs, some of which offer Irish music, ensure that there is always entertainment and good food on offer at any time of year. Doolin, famous for its traditional pubs and restaurants, is nine miles away, and the lively seaside resort of Lahinch, which offers a promenade, golf links, and leisure complex, is 18 miles distant.
