Kilkee offers a lovely beach and all the attractions of a seaside resort, and a ferry service half an hour away takes tourists to County Kerry. The Kilkee Surf School runs surf camps for children at Kilkee and Doughmore beaches during the summer holidays, and Waterworld is an all weather facility that draws many visitors all year round. The delightful seaside town of Kilkee is situated on the western coast of County Clare and overlooks the mile-long horseshoe bay. Other activities are catered for here, including golf – a superb 18-hole championship golf course stretches along the spectacular cliffs on the road towards George Head. Visitors can enjoy the spectacular cliff scenery on foot, then wander into one of Kilkee’s choice of excellent cafés and restaurants specialising in locally caught fish and shellfish. The pubs and lounge bars offer lively nightlife including traditional Irish nights, dancing and pub theatre.
