Vacation Rental Description
When travelling in Europe in 2004 I fell in love with this part of Hungary, bought a piece of land in Nagyvisnyó and decided to build a wooden chalet on it. It was completed in 2007 and I am delighted to be able to offer the use of it as holiday accommodation. It is set in a large enclosed garden overlooking wooded hills. The house comprises a large kitchen diner, interconnecting passage and large lounge, two bedrooms and large Wet Room. Both the kitchen/diner and lounge have full height ceilings each with a mezzanine floor which forms the two bedrooms. Downstairs the kitchen is equipped with fridge, microwave, twin electric cooking unit, toaster, kettle, crockery and utensils. The large wet room with a shower, wash hand basin and toilet is also on the ground floor. Through the passage is the lounge with wood burning stove set in a beautiful fireplace, satellite TV which can also receive many pay TV channels, radio and two bed settees. French windows from the lounge lead you out onto a large sunny patio overlooking the garden. There is also parking space for several vehicles. A traditional Hungarian BBQ is available for use in making the lovely goulash.
In order to get to this area by air you would fly to Budapest and either rent a car and take the (M0 and M3) or take a train from Budapest to Eger and hire a car.
The village is served by a bus which takes you to Szilvásvárad and on to Eger, or you can get on a train to Eger.
The buses leave every hour from Eger and every 1.30 hour from Nagyvisnyó back to Eger. Here is an example of the timetable:
