These apartments are located in a large detached villa in the beautiful seaside village of Amaliapolis (also known as Mitzela), which is much appreciated by Greek holiday makers but off the beaten tourist track.
Each flat is self contained and about 42m2 with one twin bedroom with air conditioning, bathroom with full bath with shower attachment, open plan living/ dining area with small double sofa bed for 2 people and well equipped kitchen facilities. Several balconies help to make the most of the wonderful sun. Some of the apartments have sea views and all look out over the olive clad hillsides. The ground floor apartment may be suited for guests with limited mobility.
In the village centre you will find a choice of cafes/bars and tavernas, with excellent fish, three of which stay open all year, all within walking distance of the villa. The village also has two bakeries and two general stores. The beach is also about 7 minutes walk from the apartments and is sandy and gently sloping - making it very suitable for young children. There is also a children’s playground, 5-a-side football pitch and volleyball court next to the beach. In high season there are 2 beach bars. In summer Amaliapolis is popular with holidaying Greek families. You can experience the 'real' Greece here largely untouched by mass market tourism.
As well as the village beach there are several good beaches within a 30 minute drive. You can also take a boat trip to the island of Skiathos from the nearby village of Achillion. The area of Magnesia is rich in archaeological sites including Ancient Thebes, Prehistoric Dimini, Sesklo and Dimitras. Volos is a bustling small city with a wide range of shops, restaurants and ferry links to the nearby islands of Skiathos, Alonissos and Skopelos. The Pelion Peninsula is within driving distance with beautiful scenery - a good day trip. In winter there is even a ski resort on the peninsula! Explore the seaside villages or drive up into the mountains for breathtaking views.
The village of Amaliapolis is situated on a large bay in the Pagasitic Gulf on the east coast of Greece, 53km south of the lively university city of Volos from where Jason and the Argonauts set sail. It is roughly midway between Athens and Thessaloniki and so well situated for exploring mainland Greece, including the monasteries of Meteora, classical Delphi, Dion and other archaeological sites in Magnesia and beyond. There are charter flights to Nea Anchialos Volos Airport (20km) May-September or scheduled, budget or charterflights to Athens or Thessaloniki are equally convenient. The village is about 20km from the E75 motorway which links Athens and Thessaloniki. Car hire is recommended but you can also use public transport to reach the village.
By renting more than one apartment parties of 4, 8, 12 or 16 people can be accommodated. If you require accommodation for more than 16 people please enquire.
