The 'Old House' is set in the end of an old Lefkadian settlement called 'Pigadissani' near the village of Karya.The most incredible panoramic views can be experienced from the large veranda with the mulberry tree & a built-in barbecue to the side.'Old House' dates back to 1870,& has undergone a very sensitive restoration, that makes the most of the weathered old stone fabric of the building, its simple village architecture & it's setting.This prticularly beautiful house has a wonderfully evocative atmosphere due to the sensitive conversion by its architect owners.Inside the 'Old House' there is an open plan sitting room with big stone made fireplace, dining area & kitchen with breakfast bar, leading to verandah; utility/shower room with washing machine; open wooden stairs to upper floor with sitting hall to one double bedroom & two twin bedded rooms;large bathroom with bath.The guest room has one two bedded room; kitchenette & bathroom with jacuzzi bath. The 'Old House' sleeps 6 & the guest room located beside the pool terrace sleeps 2.NOTES ON ACCOMMODATION: Beamed wooden ceiling, stone-flagged floors, antique brass beds & colourful hand made rugs. ACCESSIBILITY: Not suitable for people with mobility problems. Outside the villa there is a large veranda with a central mulberry tree & a built-in barbecue to the side, provides attractive sitting & dining areas with spectacular views across the surrounding countryside.A private swimming pool (8m x 4m) with constant depth (1,40m), with sunbeds & umbrella for the guests to use,between the main house & the guest cottage.Beautiful old stone paths & walls.Mature tree & plants.BEACH: The pretty seaside village of Agios Nikitas & famous nearby beaches such as 'Kathisma' & 'Milos' are a distance of 7-11km from the 'Old House'.Excellent 'Potissies' beach is at a distance of 7km.Famous 'Porto Katsiki' beach is 45km away.(All these beaches have been awarded with blue flag).TRAVEL: The 'Old House' is 31km from Preveza-Lefkada airport.Taxis are available, while renting a car is most convenient.The important port of Igoumenitsa, 120km away, is linked 3-4 times daily with ferries to the main Italian ports.DISTANCES: The villa is just 1km away from Karya, the main village in the center of the island, which has a good selection of shops, tavernas & cafe bars.Lefkas town is 14km away.FURTHER DETAILS: The area of Pigadissani-Karya is famous for the colourful hand woven carpets & precious embroideries as well as for the very good climate during the hot months of July/August.Enjoy a nice meal at the many tavernas laying around the main square covered by the thick shadow of superb sycamore treesw.Tell Georgia of the small tavern 'sta Platania' to make you try her delicious zucchini pie.

Bookings are confirmed with a 30% deposit (non-refundable).Prices are euros per week & include all taxes, cleaning twice a week, linen twice a week, pool cleaning, electricity. Bookings are Sunday to Sunday.The villa is available from 2pm on the day of arrival.Guests are requestedbto vacate the villa not later than 10am on the day of departure.Minimum stay one week.
