Vacation Rental Description
Picture yourself sunbathing by the pool at our hillside villa overlooking a nearly 360 degree panorama of this gem in the Mediterranean, the Greek island of Lefkada on the Ionian sea situated on the gorgeous Adriatic coast that faces Italy.
Connected to the mainland by a short land bridge, the lush greenery of olive and citrus orchards, tall cypress groves, picturesque villages, and white sand beaches with sparkling deep, blue water await your arrival.
Our villa in the traditional village of Katouna located a short drive from the port and main town has 2 private bedrooms, a large dining room and kitchen with several fireplaces and central air conditioning.
This fully restored 150 year old rock walled house has ample room for two couples and extra beds to accommodate 2 more guests within its modern comforts as well as antique furnishings, a bar, sofa bed, and outside terrace overlooking the private pool.
The views in any direction are picture perfect. As your body relaxes and your spirit restores, history and imagination tantalize your daydreams as you look upon the same bay where mythic Odysseus set off on his wanderings and the contemporary Ari Onassis entertained heads of states and built a fortune. His island of Skorpios which you see below you is also part of the same tapestry which brought Florentine and Venetian merchants here to Lefkada to spread their architecture as well as sing their ballads.
The Italian influences harmonize well with the hospitable Greek culture in creating a unique beauty of many sorts including dining delights. The village of Katouna is famous for its wonderful olive oil, mountain honey, and wine so superb, the Greek gods of antiquity graced their tables with its nectar.
The local taverna has special old world charm and a cuisine that specializes in fresh seafood catches as well as many other of its homemade Mediterranean dishes and wines. And on weekends and special occasions live Greek music invites you to join the fun of dancing under the stars.
Authentic traditions as well as cosmopolitan influences from the many village residents who have moved here from all over the world. The international boat harbor nearby is a parade of different flags and yacht sizes. No matter what season you book your reservation, the weather is usually nice.
Fabulous beaches are only a few minutes away from the villa, yet you will enjoy as well being nestled in the mountain side where the summer breezes are scented with herbs. Spring bathes the scenery with glorious wild flowers and winter even provides skiing access just 2 hours away.
