Two storey house in over 1/4 acre of land in tiny hamlet but near beaches, shops attractions and amenities.
Vacation Rental Description
Situated in the tiny hamlet of Neratzia, west Crete, our home is a newly biult stone house of 119 sq.m. It stands on a plot of over 1/4 acre, has its own orange grove together with other fruit trees and landscaped garden. There is a 22 sq.m. kidney shaped swimming pool with areas for sunbathing and an external shower. Tables, parasols and sunbeds are provided.
In the evenings prepare your own Greek dishes on the brick built barbecue and relax on the patio by the illuminated swimming pool with a glass of wine with views across the fields to the hills.
Downstairs is open plan and has a spacious well equipped kitchen with built in oven and microwave, touch control ceramic hob and American style fridge/freezer with ice and cold water dispenser. The lounge has 2 comfortable settees, a casual table, TV and DVD player. The dining room includes a solid wood table and chairs for 4 and a solid wood display unit. Both rooms open onto the patio, equipped with table, chairs and parasol. There is also a bathroom with shower.
Upstairs consists of the large master bedroom with double bed, dressing table and large wardrobe. There is a balcony with external lighting for sitting out, again with table and reclining chairs offering views to the hills and the coast. There are mosquito screens on the window and door to the patio in the bedroom and also in other rooms in the house. There is also another bathroom with walk in shower equipped with mushroom headed shower.
The garden whilst still quite young is filled with flowers and shrubs and next to the house is its own orange grove, make your own fresh juice for breakfast.
Located approximately 4 kms. inland and just 3 kms. from the National Road Shiminin is ideally situated for exploring west and central Crete. 2 kms. to the south is the villages of Voukolies and Tavronitis 3 kms. to the north. In these villages you will find numerous cafenions, tavernas, bank, post office, chemist, bakeries and food stores. For a major food shop there are numerous supermarkets along the coast road including Lidl, Inka and Carrefour.
The nearest beaches are at Tavronitis, just 5 mins. by car, both sand and pebble. From here you access the beaches all along the coast including the beautiful beaches of Falassarna, Elafonisi and Paleochora, all less than an hours drive.
Just 20 mins. by car is the beautiful venetian city of Chania, with its attractive port, shops and eateries. There are also many other attractions nearby and if you are feeling energetic walk the famous Samaria Gorge. Shiminin is ideally situated and whatever you require we are sure it can be found nearby.
The nearest airport is Chania, some 45 mins. however the major airport of Heraklion is only 2 hrs. away but the drive is very nice and easy.
Linen is changed weekly and the house is cleaned at the same time, the pool is maintained as necessary, normally every 2 or 3 days. A small welcome pack is provided but we are happy to shop for you if given enough notice.
Changeover days are flexible.
Facilities
The house is ready for your arrival by 3pm. We would ask guests to vacate by 11am but this may be flexible depending on bookings. All utilities are included. Maid and pool services are provided, the linen will be changed weekly and the house will be cleaned at the same time.

Prices are for the house and for 2 people only. We do offer a discount of £50 for bookings of 2 weeks or more. Bookings overlapping rental periods will be charged according to the periods in which they fall. Part weeks will be charged on a pro-rata basis. Please contact us and we will provide any further information you require by email or telephone. To reserve the house please email and we will send you a booking form which can be completed and returned by email. The receipt of a non-refundable 25% deposit seccurees the booking with the balance payable 8 weeks before departure. Cancellations less thaan 8 weeks before departure will attract cancellation charges, full terms are included on the booking form. Payments can be made into our UK bank account or by any other method that has been agreed. A refundable deposit of £100 will be required on arrival to cover any breakages, this will be refunded on departure.
