The recently restored stone house is located in peaceful lane within the unspoilt traditional village of Vamos. Two minutes stroll from the village square and most shops, bank and tavernas. The bakery is generally considered the best in the region. The Village of Vamos has some of the best tavernas in the area, where tasty Cretan specialities are served accompanied by some of the island's best wines. The taverna Bloumosofi and the coffee shop Liakato are run by the Vamos preservation society. There are several other tavernas where an equally friendly welcome and good food await. Vamos which lies midway between Chania and Rethymnon, is a 10 minute drive from several beaches including Almyrida and Kalives. A 20 minute journey with panoramic views will take you to Georgioupolis.

Nearest beaches are Almyrida - with wind surfing and other popular water sports 8km. Kalives - sun beds, sandy not exposed to wind 6km. Kera - between Kalives and Almyrida. Ombrogialos - rocky cove with taverna 8km. Georgioupoli - long beach 10km.
