In October 2008, an independent travel writer stayed at Allium Villa whilst researching the area for a new book; you can read what he said about the area and the villa in Holiday Villas and Cottages Magazine Issue 2, on sale 17th July 2009. Here is an extract about the villa - "On a hill above the village of Aspro, the villa was spacious (three bedrooms, three bathrooms), beautifully furnished and wonderfully peaceful with spectacular views of the mountains and the sea, especially from the upstairs terrace. The gardens and pool were a delight and there was plenty of room for the car. Nearby Almirida has loads of restaurants and a lovely beach........." 
 
The villa is set on a large quiet and peaceful plot on the outskirts of the famously picturesque village of Aspro and set above the fishing village of Almerida. From the villa ground floor terrace and pool you have lovely views of the surrounding countryside, mountains and sea. 
 
Almerida town is easily accessed by car or foot with its shops, tavernas and safe, sandy family beach. The coastal town of Kalyves is just a short drive away and offers alternative beaches. 
 
The historic town of Chania with its charming port and airport is a short 30 minute drive. Heraklion airport is approx 90 minutes by car. 
 
This villa offers the ideal opportunity for family holidays. 
 
The Villa 
 
This spacious three bedroom stone built villa offers all the comforts and facilities one could wish for. The rooms are traditional in style with natural stone walls and beamed wooden ceilings. There is full air conditioning and also ceiling fans installed throughout. 
 
The accommodation is set over 2 floors comprising; a large lounge, comfortably furnished with 2 sofa beds and French doors leading to garden, terrace, and undercover area with al-fresco dining for 8. 
 
An arch leads into the kitchen with dining table for 6. The kitchen is well equipped with all modern appliances. The ground floor shower room and twin bedroom with French doors leading onto its own terrace with direct access to garden and pool complete the ground floor. 
 
Stairs lead to the first floor with 2 further bedrooms. A double bedroom with ensuite shower room, a twin bedroom and separate bathroom with shower and toilet. Both bedrooms share a very large private terrace with fantastic views of the sea, Almerida bay and also of the mountains and countryside. 
 
The villa is set on a large plot with pleasant planted garden, It and private pool with sun terrace. There is also ample parking space shaded by olive trees
